Childs veered from her usual 3rd person focusing on Theodosia's thoughts to a 3rd person focusing on many peoples' thoughts. The change was refreshing and different and did a lot to speed the book along. The story, itself, was fun to read. The tea information in this one was fabulous - very, very informative. Also, the recipes in the back are yummy!

Keeps you guessing. I "knew" it was 2 different people... I was wrong. =)

A truly engaging story. Laura Childs really makes the story come to life. She sometimes tells the story from another characters point of view, without being confusing. It really adds to the plot

After this 3rd book in the series I'm really enjoying the characters. Especially how she fits "Earl Grey", Theo's dog, into the stories. I am a little concerned with Theo's withholding of evidence while she conducts her investigation. Oh well, these aren't supposed to be real life are they :-)

An enjoyable read, but the ending isn't very realistic. Theo barrels ahead on her own like a Gothic romance heroinne, and the author dismisses the Charleston police department -- with one of the best police chiefs in the country -- as totally incompetent. (Yes, it's fiction, but the author tries to give us a realistic feel of the city, and those parts simply aren't.)

The 3rd in a series of Tea Shop Mysteries by Laura Childs. Theodosia Browning, owner of the Indigo Tea Shop is caught up in another murder when she attends an engagement party of a friends neice. When the groom is killed and the antique engagement ring is stolen, Theo sets out to solve the mystery and discovers that other thefts have occurred in town.

I enjoyed this and it was not as predictable an ending as usual.

Theo is mingling with the cream of Charleston society at the engagement soiree. As they await the couple's arrive, the groom meets with a freak accident and the exquisite wedding ring from the crown of Marie Antoinette is missing.
