Forget about any heiress you've ever read about. This one's funny and sweet, sexy and smart. She'll make you laugh and cry. It's an engaging novel.

I really enjoyed this book. A little more to the story than your basic romance.

Another book by Erin McCarthy that I thoroughly enjoyed. This is a sequel (in a sense) to DATE WITH THE OTHER SIDE. We already met Amanda and found that she came to Cuttersvile, OH to track down her love interest. Only she discovered that her love had fallen in love with a local gal, Shelby. In this book, Shelby's first husband, Danny, becomes enamored with Amanda. He also finds that he's the father of an 8-year old daughter that he was never told about. And, since Amanda's father has cut off her monthly allowance and has become penniless, Danny asks Amanda to babysit for his new daughter. Soon afterwards, the sparks start flying.
This was an enjoyable book and moved quite quickly. There wasn't the usual amount of romance that we find in a McCarthy book. However, the bit that's in this book is really hot....And I enjoyed viewing the world according to Amanda. Her sarcasm and wit were refreshing.
I gave it 4 stars!

I really enjoyed this book. It is lighthearted, and sweet. A girl who has never wanted for anything material in her life, has never had to work -meets a guy from a totally different way of life. Good read.

Amanda Delmar is a socalite with a trust fund that Daddy funds and uses to control her actions. When he cuts her off on a trip to Ohio Amanda takes a job... as a nanny to single hunky dad Danny Tucker. Easy reading with a light plot, cute kid angle with a funny haunted house sidebar. Book in very good condition only black remainder mark on bottom.

sequal to A Date With The Other Side
from the back cover:
Chicago socialite Amanda Delmar thought spending the summer in Cuttersville - Ohio's most haunted town - would be a hoot, until dear old Dad cut her off. Now Amanda has to do the unthinkable and get...A JOB.
Luckily, the good folks of Cuttersville will always help someone in need. Even the ghost in Amanda's cottage is pelting her with pennies. Farmer Danny Tucker would be more amused by Amanda's attempts at holding down a job if he weren't so turned on by the skinny, bronzed blonde. A simple man with simple needs, Danny knows that courting Amanda woujld be anything but. Besides, another gil has turned Danny's head: an eigth year old daughter he never knew he had. One who takes quite a shine to Amanda and her coture-clad poodle...
Hiring Amanda to baby-sit his baby girl may not be the smartest thing Danny has ever done. But seeing how she brings a smitle to his shy daughter's face makes it all worthwhile. Now all Danny has to figure out is how to keep Amanda at arm's length, when she has already wriggled her way into his heart....

The author, Erin McCarthy, just keeps getting better, and funnier. Amanda, gorgeous, rich and a mass of insecurities, is disinherited by her father and must find a job in rural Ohio. Who hires her as a Nanny for his newly discovered daugher, is Danny, a farmer with a failed marriage and his own mass of insecurities. What follows is a sweet love story about a man, a woman and the child. A very funny, sexy love story, not to be missed.

This was such a funny book. I really was hoping to have a character I could identify with - not an airhead rich diva with too much money and not enough sense - Erin McCarthy doesn't disappoint. It's so well written and the characters are so likeable. I'm so glad I found a sequel to the Boston/Shelby book.

Really enjoyed this book. Kept me laughing throughout the entire time. It's both funny and hot. The dynamic between Amanda and Danny is really great. His parents as well as Piper, are a colorful addition.

Amanda has been cut off. Cut off for good from her Daddy’s fortunes and left to rot in Hicksville USA. Well, Cuttersville Ohio if you want to get technical, and she only has $54 left to her name after Daddy closes down all her credit cards. Therefore, Amanda must do the unthinkable: get a job…soon.
Danny Tucker is a simple guy. Farms his land, does part time construction, has a nice house and is pretty happy…if a little lonely. Until the fateful day when Piper arrives on his doorstep.
After coming in from the field to a black pickup truck in his driveway, Danny gets the shock of his life. He has a daughter, an eight-year old daughter that he never knew about. Her stepfather dumps her on Danny’s door and takes off. What the heck is Danny going to do with an eight-year old?
Matters don’t get any better when Piper becomes attached to Amanda for some unknown reason. But things turn out ok when Amanda mentions she’s looking for a job. Not only does Danny get some childcare, but he gets to ogle Amanda day in and day out. What could be better?
Slowly the feelings of lust Danny and Amanda have for each other blossom into something else. Something better and foreign to both of them. Piper becomes a beloved member of their off-kilter family, and Amanda needs to make a choice: Beg her Daddy to take her back, or stay in Hicksville. Oh the decisions.
Ok so the plot leaves something to be desired. I recognize that. I didn’t have high hopes when I picked this book up in all honesty. But I was hooked from the first page. This is definite Chicklit at its best. I was instantly drawn to Amanda, Danny, and Piper. I loved their relationships, and even though the book is not long, McCarthy has a gift for developing a deep relationship between her characters in very few words.
I gobbled up “Heiress for Hire.” Dare I say it was even better than “Little Lady Agency” which I reviewed so favorably? Bottom line is this was a quick and heartwarming read which leaves me very sad that there’s not a sequel.

Great book. First one I've read from this author. Certainly not like I'd picture any heiress. Funny!!!!!

A fun but predictable story. Best parts were the sex discussions between a grown man & his mother & the Heiress shopping in Wal-Mart.

Danny, from McCarthy's "Date From the Other Side" gets his own story! When Farmer Danny finds out he has an 8 year old daughter, he hires cash poor heiress Amanda to be her nanny. Sparks fly and McCarthy has a winner in this romance!

Much better than I thought it would be. I'm not much of a chick-lit reader, and this book surprised me. It's very funny and sweet, I laughed so hard when Danny couldn't rip $100 panties! A very fast read, I couldn't put it down and just spent my entire day off reading it.

Much Better than I thought it would be. I thought the main character would be sorta snobby since she was a rich girl but she was a very likeable character. I really enjoyed this book! :)

I loved Erin McCarthy's Mouth to Mouth, Huston, We Have a Problem, and Smart Mouth, but was ambivalant about her last two, The Pregnancy Test, and the first book in this series, A Date with the Other Side. I'm happy to report that she is back on track with this one. I didn't think I'd care for a spoiled heiress heroine, but McCarthy make her sympathetic and extremly humorous in this funny and sometimes touching romance.
Really great, fun, quick read!

This book is the sequel(sort of)to "A Date With The Other Side(Ohio's Most Haunted Town" I really enjoyed this book. This was such a fun and fast read. This was not your typical rich girl with too much money scene. Amanda really is a great surprise. Erin McCarthy doesn't disappoint you, she is a great story teller. It's so well written and the characters are so likeable. I'm so glad I found these books. I would recommend this book.
This was my second Erin McCarthy book and I was not disappointed! The only mistake I mad was that I read this out of sequence. It's the second book but...it didn't really matter because this story held it's own. It was touching, sweet and oh so sexy! I could have done without the ghost part but it was minor so no biggy. Definitely a must read.
