This book was enjoyable, but kind of felt empty towards the end. The characters that had been pretty well developed early suddenly made odd choices right near the end - and then the book was done. And the fiery sparks that flew between the main characters for most of the book suddenly vanished and everything got mushy. Now, I enjoy mushy, but it felt weird in this case. Still a good read, and I may read others by this author if I run across them, but I won't seek them out.

Scottish romance set in the Highlands during the time of Robert the Bruce. Typical plot line with handfasted marriage, jealous ex-mistress and impending war all threatening to separate two lovers.

Great scottish romance. Main character was very sexy!

Really hated this book. It should come with a big warning: there is an extremely unhappy, unsatisfying ending to a romantic subplot.

Not your typical romance book, and I really liked it.

This book is different in that the "heroine" isn't rich. She's the daughter of the castle "steward" or manager. The new "owner" sees her as "fertile" and could possibly provide him with an heir!!

He offers her a handfast marriage (the year & a day) and will marry her if she gets pregnant in the year.

Good Read & a different take on a medieval romance.

in the beginning the guy sees the girl as nothing but a brood mare, he really wants a kid. they have lots of trouble including a mistress who wants him back and a whole bloody war in which he thinks her brothers are traitors.
