This book centers around the murder of a gay artist. It is assumed to be a hate crime. Enter Racheal Alexander, Private Eye and her dog Dashiel. She uncovers what really happened. The book delves into some of the gay lifestyle, and also the dog show circuits.

Great book for dog and mystery fans
Dash & Rachel are looking for a missing barkless champion Basenji named Magritte, and for a killer. The basenji belonged to a struggling artist found dead on a downtown pier. As Rachel pursues a string of clues that take her from the SoHo art scene to the world of Manhattens homeless to the Westminster Kennel Club dog show, she soon discovers how dangerous it could be to trust the wrong person.
