Quite surprised by the Gay/Lesbian and genereal sexuality theme in this. Haven't encountered that with L'engle before and I've read dozens of her books.

This book is a story about growing up that deals with the REAL crises that come with growing up. L'Engle deals with sexuality in a very honest way, discussing not only the questions that are asked in the process of maturity, but also the bigger issues and emotions that come alongside it. Very different from L'Engle's other books that I have read, but still worth reading.
