Book Reviews of At First Sight

Many of you will remember that Jeremy Marsh and Lexie Darnell fell in love in "True Believer." This was a totally unexpected happening in Marsh's life. He's a divorced man in his mid thirties, a columnist, used to life in the big city. But he has moved to the small rural town of Boone Creek, N.C. to start a new life and marry Lexie, a librarian, who is expecting their child.

Fatherhood, home owner, small town dweller - all at once it's a bit much for Marsh to accommodate. To top it off he develops a bad case of writer's block, and begins to receive email saying Lexie isn't all she pretends to be.

Will the two be able to overcome these obstacles for the sake of love? It's a teary trail to the answer, but Sparks fans will relish the trip.

Wonderful! A followup to True Believer.

The only book of his that I have ever had to struggle through to finish.

I love all of Nicholas Sparks books. His writing is so full of emotion and you get drawn right into his stories. This book is a sequel to true believer so make sure you read that book first. This is definitely a tear jerker and you will want to have an entire box of tissues nearby!

Another favorite book of mine by Nicholas Sparks! AT FIRST SIGHT is about endings that bring new beginnings, tradegies that lead to unexpected joy and most of all, the magic of everlasting love! This book brought tears to my eyes - may be because I'm a mother!

As with all Nicholas Sparks this is one of his best....about endings that bring about new beginnings and the magic of everlasting love.

Great book.

This book was really good. It was a really good book to read and it kept me on the edge of my chair as I was reading it. The ending was not what I was expecting which is sometimes unusual from Nicholas Sparks because a lot of his books can be predictable. Everyone should read this book!

Another Amazing book by Nicholas Sparks!

A classis Nicholas Sparks that is perfect for light summer beach reading.

This is the continuation of the love story of small-town librarian Lexie Darnell and big-city science writer, the skeptical Jeremy Marsh. In the course of a whirlwind six weeks, Jeremy Marsh has done the impossible: he's found someone he wants to spend the rest of his life with, and he is going to be a father. All her life Lexie has wanted to raise a family in her hometown, the dying Boone Creek, North Carolina, and Jeremy is willing to sacrifice New York for her.

But as the weeks pass, Jeremy loses his writing touch, the money spent on buying and renovating their house seems more than they can spare, and Jeremy can't help but feel like Lexie is keeping things from him. His good friend Alvin keeps warning him that he's gone into this too fast, he barely even knows Lexie, he shouldn't throw his life away for her.

But doubtful friends are the least of their worries, it turns out. As their child's expected date of birth nears, complications arrive which could threaten their small family's happiness forever. Tragedy, acceptance, and joy combine in this sweet tearjerker.

I wasn't a huge fan of TRUE BELIEVER, the prequel, and AT FIRST SIGHT didn't leave a much better impression on me either, except for the ending.

Not my favorite Sparks book but still a good read.

Truly enjoyed this continuation of "True Believer" as Jeremy and Lexie start their life together. Found this book hard to put down.....

Wonderful read. Kept me wondering if things would work. But a very surprising ending.

Like all Nicholas Sparks books, At First Sight, was a beautiful love story from the south with wonderful ghost and second sence.

I usually like Sparks books but this one I couldn't even finish. I kept getting bored and finally read to the end and then it was kinda ruined.

This is a typical Nicholas Sparks book - a well-written, good love story. I moved to North Carolina 8 years ago and especially enjoyed the book's setting in Boone. The main characters were introduced in an earlier Sparks book which I have not read. That did not take away from enjoyment of At First Sight.

Not his best work but still an easy fluffy read.

Excellent book with a suprise ending, Nicholas Sparks always has me in tears.

Another wonderful story by Nicholas Sparks. This one is a sequal to A True Believer (I think) - following Lexie and Jeremy's love story through their courtship, into marriage and beyond. Nicely told, from Jeremy's point of view, the characters really are beautifully developed and the story engaging.

WONDERFUL BOOK!!!!

This is a very good book. I didn't realize that it was a continueing story of the two characters, but it didn't seem to matter. I cried a lot and could really see each and every character.

I loved this book. And it's in excellent condition.

Another great book by Nicholas Sparks! I really like how Sparks described the relationship between Lexie and Jeremy! It was very believable!

I just couldn't get into this book, or the one before it. It was a nice story, but not special, which is what I am used to from Sparks.

What can I say other than Nicholas Sparks is quite an author - I'm a sucker for romance and he sure knows what he's talking about. BUT - he seems to always have different endings (they're definitely not predicitable) and this book was no exception. GREAT BOOK!

WOW! I won't give away the ending, but it will move you to tears! This is Sparks' best novel since the Notebook or Message in a Bottle. This story finishes the beautiful love story of Lexie and Jeremy, characters Sparks introduced us to in True Believer. An awesome reading experience!

This is the sequel to True Believer...wonderful continuation of the love story!

wasn't sure if it would be good at the end like all of his others but when you least expect it he grabs you and doesn't let go and it was wonderful and once again I cried.

Although I'm a huge Nicholas Sparks fan, I did not care for this book as much as his previous ones. All in all, still a very touching book.

Good book, hard to put down.

I didn't care for this one as much as I have all other Sparks' books - don't want to give anything away so I won't comment more about the story line. Maybe the expectation for sequels is just too high.

this was a very good story very touching. the last 10-20 pages were not expected and kind of disapointing. the ending the author chose made me very mad.
