The Pendergast-D'Agosta team is on the job. Read this after Brimstone. Pendergast re-appears. His brother terrorizes him and everyone around him. There's a death of someone we already know, a kidnapping, and a lot of other deceptions. Preston and Child present us another exciting page-turner!

Pendergast's diabolical brother Diogenes is hell-bent on destroying him. The murder of several people close to the FBI agent make it painfully clear to him that this is no slight case of sibling rivalry. Unfortunately, the feds are convinced that Pendergast himself was involved with the killings; to neutralize Diogenes, he must go underground, aided only by his old buddy NYPD Lieutenant Vincent D'Agosta. Intense action; plot surprises.

This is the second book in this trilogy by Preston and Child. The first is Brimstone and the third is Book of the Dead. I'm a little biased about these two authors. I love them, so I really liked this book, especially Pendergast - what a great character. If you haven't read Brimstone yet, you should read that first - if you have then you must read this one next.

of all the preston, child books, this is my absolute favorite. the plot was terrific, as always, but i think the reason i liked it is that characters are finally complete, consistent and the story is the result of their behavior, i.e., they are who they are. in all the others, starting with relic, i felt that the characters' development and behavior was driven by the need to make the plot work, i.e., who they are changes to fit the circumstances.
oh, well, what do you expect from a literature major....?

Great book, you can count on Preston and Child
I absolutely loved this book. This is the first Preston/Child collaboration that I have read and I definitly had to read more after this. The main characters in this book are complicated, brilliant and mysterious. The plot is twisted and keeps you turning the page late into the night. I had to go find the books that came before and after!
Absolutely fantastic read as are all their novels--Pendergast and D'Agosta at their finest so far!!!! It makes so much more sense if read in order though, so be sure to start with Brimstone.

Another great Pendergast mystery! Lots of twists and turns, and it makes you wonder about Pendergast?
In a follow-up to the Audie Award-winning BRIMSTONE, authors Preston and Child again team up on a story that stretches the boundaries of thriller fiction. Against the backdrop of New York's Museum of Natural History, Lieutenant Vincent D'Agosta and mysterious FBI Agent Aloysius Pendergast try to track down Pendergast's brother, who is murdering Pendergast's acquaintances, one by one. Book 2 of a Trilogy
Excellent !!!!! By far one of the best. Completely Riviting.
Preston & Child actuallu improve upin the first book in this series (Brimstone). The returning charcters are surronded by a great new cast in this very good thriller.
The coverof this copy is beginnig to show some wear, but is still in good condition. Cover is complettely intact.

Wow... What DID Pendergast to do Diogenese?!?!?
Another great Preston/Child book - one you can't put down.
sequel to "Brimstone". Not quite up to Preston & Childs normal page turning thrill, but still very good and makes you want the 3rd in the series to see what happens.

How many ways can you say "Great Book"
I really liked this book, as I have enjoyed all the Detective Perdergast books. The second ina trilogy, it helps to read "Brimstone" first. Will not disappoint if you are a Preston/Child fan.
Another great Pendergast-D'Agosta mystery, well crafted, and located in the NY Museum of Natural History.
Great mover of the trilogy following Agent Pendergast and D'Agosta. --Can't wait to pursue the next book by these fine authors!
Two brothers. One a top FBI agent. The other a brilliant, twisted criminal. An undying hatred between them. Now,a perfect crime. And the ultimate challenge:Stop me if you can....

Fun read!
WOW! Another Preston & Child blockbuster! The twists and turns on this one left me breathless and I had to stay up most of the night to finish it because I just HAD to know what happened. The only thing I didn't like about the book is that they killed off a much liked character from a former book in this series (and I'm not going to tell you who!). Dang it!

I love the Pendergast series! This book was a happy edition to stories that are well written and contain the twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. I can always tell when a book is good when I have to read it straight through-morning to night and Dance of Death was another such story from the Preston/Lincoln series of Pendergast novels.
Excellent storyline. It speaks well that an author ( or two, in this case)makes you care about the characters, and what becomes of them. The second in a trilogy,I cannot wait for number three!!
All of the Preston/Childs books are fun reads. They often venture to the far edge of science, then slightly step over it, while remaining mostly in the realm of the possible... mostly! This second in a special series of three (the last one to be published mid 2006) continues the search for Agent Pendergast's evil Moriarty brother!
awesome read he leaves such cliffhangers, waiting for the next.
