Book Reviews of The Wedding

This was the first book I read by Nicholas Sparks after seeing (and loving) the movie version of the Notebook. I've been hooked on his books ever since and don't think you can ever go wrong picking one up. I loved the chance this book gave to see what the results were of the beautiful love story in the Notebook in addition to its own moving story. I gave my mom a copy to read and would recommend this to any of my friends.

My first thought before I read it was that sequels are never as good as the first. But I was wrong in this case!! I enjoyed this book just as much as the first!! It was romantic and just a "make you feel good" book! I love it and it's one of my favorites by Sparks!

One of the finest I've ever read. Sparks writes of people that are real and could be next door neighbors. By the time I finished this I was in tears...the good kind! It's a treasure and worth the read.

This is probably one of the best books I have read in a very long time. Very thought provoking in addressing the relationship of a man and woman AFTER the children are gone and its just the two of you again. Beautifully written, a surprise ending which makes you just smile!!!

One of my summer reads last year. Nicholas Sparks is a great storyteller, and his books never disappoint for a quick, easy read. This one is about a couple that has fallen out of, after raising a family, a husband that was a workaholic, and how he vows to give his wife the love she needs and deserves. It is a very sweet story.

Loved it! Romantic without being cheesy, very clean and well written, an enjoyable read.

Well what can I say - just another wonderful read from Nicholas Sparks! Easy to get into the story and as always, you fall in love with the characters. Highly recommend - read this in the car in two days!

Wilson Lewis comes to the sad realization one day that after thirty years of marriage his wife, Jane, has fallen out of love with him. Jane’s father, Noah, (this book is the sequel to THE NOTEBOOK) has always had respect for Wilson and Noah tells him stories of how he kept Allie from falling out of love with him.

Wilson is an estate lawyer and has spent very little time at home over the years. He realizes that Jane fell out of love with him when he forgot their twenty-ninth wedding anniversary.

Jane was a stay-at-home mom and raised their three kids -- Anna, Joseph, and Leslie.

Anna comes home one day to announce that she is getting married. Because of Noah’s health and since her fiancé is heading to college, they want to get married the next Saturday. Anna claims that she wants a small wedding at the courthouse, but her mom, of course, wants a big wedding, even though they only have eight days to put it together.

Saturday is Wilson and Jane’s anniversary and Wilson wanted to do something really special this year so he took the week before and the week after their anniversary off from work. He hasn’t taken that much time off in eight years!

With all the work to do with the wedding, Wilson has been making Jane dinner more often and trying to help out as much as he can. What will Wilson do to make his wife fall back in love with him, so that she doesn’t leave him?

Coming from Nicholas Sparks, this book had a very high bar set for it. And this romantic love story went far beyond that! THE WEDDING is yet another wonderful romance from this amazing author!

OK BOOK BUT KNOW THAT N.SPARKS CAN DO BETTER JANW

This book starts out kind of slow but its worth reading and the twist is worth it too.

What a wonderful story- especially for those of us who aren't newlyweds anymore! Definitely a great read- as long as you have a box of tissues handy!

Part 2 to The Notebook. I really liked this book. It was a very sweet romantic book. My husband even read it and loved it!

Loved this book. You will have to read The Notebook before you read this one, as it ties in and makes references to the other. Another great book by Nicholas Sparks!!!

I love Nicholas Sparks and I loved this book. I cried and laughed and all else in between. Definitely a chick book. A quick read and a warm heart by the end of your journey.

Nice sequel to the notebook - not a sad but explians what happens after with children and grandchildren

This book was a little slow going in the first few chapters, but then I got really into it. It is a nice story of second chances. I even got my husband to read it!

This was just ok for me--- it's a nice story with a very surprising twist at the end, but it definitely didn't have the same "zing" as the notebook....

Another excellent book by this author. I love reading love stories from a man's point of view. If you want to put a spark back in your marriage this is a good book to read.

A great book about love that never ends. I read THE NOTEBOOK many years ago and it still remains my favorite....this is a sweet book that makes us all think about those we love.

This is a follow up to The Notebook. As Wilson and Jane approach their 30th anniversary, Wilson looks for a way to win back the love of Jane. A good read!

A typical Nicholas Spark's novel.

Classic Nicholas Sparks, all about love and self discovery and family. If you loved the Notebook, this is a great follow-on, as it carries out the same characters through different parts of their lives and descendants.

OMG, I loved this book just as much as the Notebook. It was just so sweet and pulled at your heartstrings some times. You will LOVE it if you were a big fan of the Notebook.

Nicholas Sparks has again demonstrated his love of North Carolina, as well as telling a very moving story of love. Oh but would the men in your life be as giving as that portrayed in The Wedding.

This is the sequel to The Notebook and is classic Sparks. Emotional, engaging and entertaining.

Not nearly as good as the Notebook - while this story is interesting and sweet, it is not as touching and memerable. References to the Notebook's Noah brought tears to my eyes, but the main story of The Wedding was just a sweet romance of a couple in their late fifties/early sixties, from a man's perspective. It's a very fast read. I gave it the low rating because I expected so much more.

I read this novel more than six months ago, and its story still sticks in my heart. At first it may seem like sentimental pap, but I found it very meaningful and delightful. A good, easy read.

Now with his daughter about to get married his wife is considering leaving. Wilson is sure his love for his wife has done nothing but grown and now he will do anything to save his marriage. Using his memories of his in laws Wilson uses thier life together as a guide to get his wife to fall in love with him again.

A book truely romantic, a love story of an older couple whos marriage is on the rocks. It's a sequel to The Notebook. I loved the book.

Not as good as the notebook but it is a spinoff of the original. This book revolves around Noah and Allies daughter Jane and her husband Wilson. Can their love be rekindled?

I really enjoyed this book. It was a slightly different style than the usual Sparks book. I found myself drawn towards the characters and very pleased with the developments in the story. A true romance, not unlike life, with many an unexpected twist. A must read for any Sparks fan!

This was an incredible book and a very fast read! I love Sparks.

Not as good as the notebook. The ending did make the book better, but I felt I wanted more from it.

A wonderful addition to Sparks' THE NOTEBOOK!

If you read the notebook you'll enjoy this Sparks book too. A man realizing that the love of his life is falling out of love and he is desperate to get that back. Need a hanky for this one.

Right up to Nicholas Sparks' usual. Very sensitive and a genually nice story. Really loved this one!!!

This book was such an enjoyable read with a suprise twist at the end. This book is about Noah and Allie's (from the book "The Notebook") daughter Jane. It is to me one of Nicholas Sparks best books....

I Loved The Notebook and this book was almost as good. A Keeper!

I fell in love with the characters in Spark's "The Notebook", so I really enjoyed getting more of them by reading this sweet follow-up piece. Very touching.
