Great start to a cute little cozy series! I loved the references to my hometown Dallas, and thought the mystery was a good one. WIll definitely pick up the second in the series!

Despite my husbands laughter at the name of the book I found it highly enjoyable. It was a very quick read with engaging characters. I really like the lead (although the constant tripping over her tongue is annoying). I will be reading more of this series.

Clementine Ripley, the defense attorney everyone loves to hate, is throwing a party that calls for several thousand dollars' worht of custom chocolates--some made in the image of her champion cat. Lee jumps at the job, but sweet success takes a bitter turn when some \one adds an extra ingredient--cyanide--to one of their delicious chocolates and it finds its way into Ms. Ripley' mouth. Now it's up to Lee to figure out who tampered with the candy before she and her aunt end up behind not-so-chocolate bars.

Fairly light mystery, fun to read. The main character is studying to be a CPA, which gave me hope (as a CPA) to see some inside stuff in the book. False hope. She could just as easily be studying to be an optometrist or bull rider, for all the inside stuff that we see. She also has a distressing (to her) habit of saying the wrong word when she knows perfectly well what the right word is. Some of these are funny, but I had a hard time with it at first.
All in all, however, it's a good book and worth reading. I think I will order the second in the series.
By the way, the author's real name is Eve K. Sandstrom. She has written a number of books under that name, too.

This author has a very comfortable voice. I knew "who done it" almost as soon as the first murder was done, but I didn't care. I still wanted to finish the book to see how she handled it, and I ordered two more in this series before I finished the first one. Excellent cozy. This one's a keeper.

This was my first book in this series. I really enjoyed it. Lee sounds like a cute gal, and her tongue-tying was funny. Good mystery. Loved reading about all the chocolates, though not a good idea to read this with Halloween candy around! LOL! Will definitely read the others in this series.
this is a great book i read it and loved it. it was also a bit scary and i would not recamend it to anybody under 11 years of age. the idea that someone was poisoned might scare/creep them out. I LOVE IT!!!!!
This book is perfect for the cozy mystery reader. Light with a touch of suspense and romance. A great read. You'll enjoy the whole series.
I did not enjoy this book. I am a kid and I thought this book looked cute, but it is really more grown up.
Very entertaining. I will read more of this series.
This "Cozy" murder mystery is the first I've read from this author and I was pleased. It's not an amazing book, but I thought it was a totally cute story. It also made me crave chocolate the entire time I was reading it. Had some interesting information regarding chocolate that I appreciated.
I enjoyed this light caper about a recently divorced woman who returns home to live with the aunt who raised her. The aunt makes very exclusive chocolate creations while her niece runs the business side of the enterprise. When her aunt's business is in danger of being destroyed because poison was injected into the confections, quick action and sleuthing are needed.
Really cute, I love women who are smart but get themselves into crazy stuff. Add a love interest and you have a really cute series.

Read this with chocolate! It's a mouth-watering mystery. I loved the mix of information on chocolate and the mystery. Never too much of one or the other. The author has some really great characters here.

Cute, fast read. Great for vacation or summer reading.
Divorcee Lee McKinney is living with and working for her Aunt Nettie, owner of TenHuis Chocolade, in a small Michigan town as she re-groups her life. Lee delivers chocolates to high-power, disliked by many defense attorney Clementine Ripley for a fund raiser, including ones shaped like Ripley's champion cat. Some of the chocolates turn out to be lethally laced with cyanide, and Lee and Nettie become suspects in Ripley's death. But Ripley had other people in her life who may have wanted her dead and Lee is determined to find her killer. With a little help from Yonkers, the cat, she mixes all the right ingredients in this Chocolate Mystery!

A nice escape, just keep some sweets with you!
Very good mystery. The lead character is female and very likable and she has a hunky love interest toward the end that makes things a little more interesting. I look forward to reading more of this author. Short and sweet.
