Book #2 in the Aisling Grey, Guardian, novel. Aisling is in Budapest for an Otherworld convention while transporting an amulet to a hermit there. Just as fun and amusing as the first one, with some minor differences. In the first book I was sort of exasperated about how clueless Aisling was and how often she managed to get into trouble, nay, ran headfirst into trouble without thinking of the consequences of her actions. In the second book, I was beginning to get used to her character and just enjoy it, but now it feels like while Aisling still manages to get into trouble, its often not her fault and MacAlister delights in writing her into a corner and seeing how she will get out of it. I often found the "rules" of the Otherworld seemed to be set specifically so that Aisling would break one and find out after the fact. Otherworlders seem very ready to frown on her every action without asking her whats really going on. Also Drake doesn't do much to help her and evades every direct question, which makes me wonder why she likes the guy? Because of this, SPOILER: I'm a reader that did feel the ending where she and Drake still have unresolved issues was where the book should have gone. Two things still make me wonder in this book: 1) why/who were those people trying to steal her amulet 2) why did the ghost nuns even help her? - it seems like the author was trying to say - it just is, don't question it by inserting a speech by Tiffany to Aisling about just accepting what's going on. But that sounds a little like a cop out to me!!! *my eyes squint suspiciously*. And.. who is Rene really? Maybe that gets resolved in the next installment..

Another Aisling Grey, Guardian novel and Aisling still doesn't have a clue. Still not able to get rid of her demon (posing as a dog), still a wyvern's mate (hot dude, sometimes literally) and still can't get training on how to use her powers. Disaster follows whereever she goes, but somehow, with a little help and luck, she triumphs.

The accidental guardian, dragon's mate and demon lord heroine is at it again in her second book of the series. And again, murder, mayhem, and super dragon sex is involved! Have fun!

I have only started reading books in the fantasy genre since, well, since I read Twilight. I was captivated by the stories. I have since read quite a few books in this genre, and have enjoyed many. But if you want a laugh out loud read, this book is it.
This second Aisling Grey book follows our hapless heroine to Budapest (along with Jim, her wise cracking demon dog) for a convention of sorts. She's hoping to find a Guardian mentor to help her learn more about this "gift" she has. And since she's going to Budapest, her uncle once again trusts Aisling to bring a valuable item to a mysterious customer in Budapest. Aisling is barely off the train when who does she run into? Drake, her wyvern mate. Drake is in Budapest for a summit of the dragon sept. Is it coincidental that the summit and Aisling's convention are in the same city at the same time and at the same hotel? Don't think so. What's Drake up to?
Author Katie MacAlister has a wonderful imagination and does splendidly in putting these wild and outrageous situations to pen and paper. I was reading this book while on the treadmill. I was laughing so hard, I had to get off the treadmill for fear of causing myself some injury.
I highly recommend this book and hope you enjoy it.

This Aisling Grey series is witty because of the demon dog companion. I don't always understand what is happening with her Dragon love interest, as the author annoyingly skips them having any dialog when they spend time together. I am waiting to find out WHY Aisling has her guardian powers and hope that maybe in the 6th Aisling Grey book she'll get to it. Personally I thought the 1st and second books were the best of this series, with the latest Playing with Fire.. no longer has Aisling Grey featured, as the cover says it's a novel of the Silver Dragons.

This book had a good mix of paranormal romance and mystery with demons, ghosts, and dragons thrown in. I liked the interaction between characters Aisling, Jim, Drake, Tiffany and Nora. I also liked how Aisling figured out the Guardian murders while trying to keep her dignity intact.

Aisling Grey, the Guardian, is back for another adventure. Aisling goes to Budapest to deliver an amulet, and in the meantime attends the GODTAM conference, where she has high hopes of finding herself a mentor. But she runs into Drake Vireo, the wyvern of the green dragon sept. Can she avoid her fate as his mate? I thought this was a fun read, better than the first in the series!

Aisling has more Murphy days (days that really are the pits) than the average person. I'll never complain about my bad days again.

You will love the wit, have a sexy, funny time as people she meets with wind up dead and men falling at her feet.

I'm on to Book 3.

Come along as Aisling Grey try's to deliver a priceless amulet to a hermit in a park,
find a mentor to help her with her Guardian/Keeper of the Gates of Hell powers.
Also, romantically fight off the Drake [Wyvern of the Green Dragons] along with all
the in's and out's of Guardians, Oracles, Mages, Diviners, etc at a convention in Budapest.

Like another reviewer, I felt that parts of this book just rehashed the first one. Some of the time the author painted Katie into a corner, where I was saying "now how is she going to get out of this"--and then she did, way too easily, so that I was left rolling my eyes. Inventing new powers or bringing in things from outside what we know doesn't seem fair. Other times she acted out of character. I found the ending deeply disappointing--I think the author could have found a better way to lead us into the next book.

Now, having said all that, I still enjoyed the book.

Aisling, tired of being told what to do by Drake, her dragon mate, decides that she wants to learn how to be a Guardian the right way. Instead of the hit and miss way she has been trying so far.

Unfortunately for her, Drake wants her attention to be focused on him and not her career.

This sets up a push and pull between them. Add a mystery and a little bit of Jim, the demon dog, and you are off and running.

A satisfying second entry in the series.

This is the second book in the Aisling Grey Guardian series by Katie MacAlister. I did not think that this book was as good as the first book. I thought that the first book was cute, sexy, funny and had some original ideas. This book was cute, sometimes sexy, rarely funny and rehashed a lot of what we already learned in the first book. These are definitely way into the romance category and just slightly into the paranormal.

Aisling travels to Budapest, Hungary to go the GODTAM convention where she hopes to meet other people like herself (That is magical type folk) and to find a Guardian to mentor her. Unfortunately she bumps into Drake and finds out that he is still obsessed with her performing her duties as his mate; some of these duties happen to be attending meetings of the Dragons' that just happen to be at the hotel she is at. With Drake hovering and her demon, Jim, making snarky comments Aisling is having one heck of a time getting a mentor lined up.

Okay I pretty much know what I am getting into with these books. They are definitely not to be taken seriously, you need to leave all your notions about romantic relationships at the door, remember things won't necessarily make any sense, and remember Aisling is a bit of an airhead. Even going into reading this book with these things in mind I was a bit miffed at this book.

First the positive stuff: This was a cute, fun read. It was a quick read and the plot moved along nicely. There were lots of tastefully done steamy sex scenes. I think it is awesome that Aisling is trying to get training for her position as a Guardian. It bugs me to death when a character decides they would rather tough it out, than do the logical thing and get a little help from a mentor. I liked the introduction of the Silver Dragon, Tiffany the professional Virgin, and some of the new Guardians.

Okay now for the negative stuff. Aisling whines constantly, about pretty much everything. She can't make up her mind about anything; she hates Drake, she wants him, she hates him, etc. Her and Drake get in arguments over things that are very childish. I mean come on Drake is how old? You don't think he learned any communication skills in all that time? Aisling seems to have major ADD in this book and can't ever decide what to do next. I can understand Jim's frustration with her. Despite the fact that Aisling blunders through most of the book somehow she is uber-powerful and manages to right things (just like in the first book). Maybe this is supposed to be part of the humor?

It was an okay book, it was light-hearted and amused me. Just, please don't think about the plot or Aisling's intentions too hard or you will hurt your brain trying to make sense of it. This is a book to read quickly, take at face value, and then it's on to another book. I have the next two books in the series and I will read them because I have them.

Well, now we know that Aisling is a great deductive detective, is a very passionate woman, & has a strong moral fiber. But will she ever get her personal life in order......... I can't wait for the next book; she will become an apprentice Guardian, & hopefully resolve her love life issues with Drake. Hurry up, Katie, I'm waiting for the next Aisling Grey novel!

Wow! Drake is hot (and quite literally since he's a dragon), but he can be a real jerk sometimes. Jim is just as great as he was in the first book. Aisling herself is still fun and I was happy that she finally gave in and admitted that she was in love with Drake. But then...the ending...I was not at all happy with it. Yes, I know more books are forthcoming, but I do wish this one could have ended differently. Hopefully all will be resolved in future books.

I found this whole series to be a lot of fun. There are many laugh out loud moments: Who wouldn't just want to hide if your suitcase was yanked open by thieves on the street and all of your lacy underwear went flying everywhere - including right at your ex? I also enjoyed the new characters and reading about all the crazy situations Aisling gets herself into. Don't take the book too seriously and you'll have a great time reading it.

Aisling Grey, Guardian book #2.
I'm Aisling Grey, and apparently I'm irresistible . . . Being quite the novice Guardian/Keeper of the Gates to Hell, I've decided to get in touch with my otherworldly self by attending a convention of supernatural beings in Budapest. For my other career as a courier for my uncle, I have to deliver a priceless amulet to a hermit, much to the amusement of Jim, my wisecracking, furry Newfoundland dog demon. He should be happy that I was able to squeak through customs with a talking dog . . .
And guess who just happens to be staying at the same hotel as I am? Drake. You remember him. The wyrven of the green dragons? My so-called 'mate'? The man who literally fires me up and makes me act like a lovesick schoolgirl? That Drake!
Meanwhile, mortal men are falling at my feet. I don't know if it's the Hungarian air or what, but it's downright embarrassing. All I want to do is find a Guardian mentor to help me control my powers. Should be easy--except that every Guardian I meet with winds up dead. I'm starting to get a complex . . .
