Imagine being able to eat delicious foods while losing weight. You don't have to count calories or restrict portion sizes. How is this possible? Well, you end up eating a starch based vegan diet.

This may seem extreme, but it has worked for me when I follow it. I get lazy and eat out too much and mess up with the program. However, whenever I follow this eating plan, I feel fatastic.

The first part of the book is filled with science on why this way of eating works. We are a country that feasts like kings and queens. One thing you might like about this program is the Dr. McDougall says it's okay to eat turkey at Thanksgiving and Ham for Easter. It's the daily eating of rich foods that causes all the modern ills of today.

Although this book was published years ago, the science still holds up. You cannot blame heart disease and cancer on genetics. If you take healthy people (i.e. look at Japan) and introduce them to the rich Western diet, they get the same health problems Americans get.

The second half of this book is filled with recipes. You can also get his free newsletter at his website. There is a member's forum that's also free. On amazon.com and in your super market, you can find McDougall Right Food's soups, oatmeal, and mixes.

When I beacame a vegetarian, I gained weight because I didn't know what to eat. I filled up on pizza, chips, cookies, and candies. This book taught me how to eat healthy.
