I have read all of Kelley Armstrong Women of the Otherworld series so far. Her series is awesome. I enjoyed every book so much, that I ran to the store to buy the rest of the series. Can't wait for the next one to come out.

What a great beginning to a series I am looking forward to following. A wonderfully strong and intelligent female lead who, of course, is surrounded by good looking men, but, unlike a certain vampire series (LKH, pay attention!), she doesn't feel the need to be the only brain nor is she boffing everyone in the cast. I am picking up the second book, "Stolen", as soon as I click, "Save Review"...

This was an incredible book - I loved every moment of it. It caught my attention right in the beginning with the description of Elena's run. It got even better when Elena went back to the Pack. The tension between her and Clay was absolutely intense. But the descriptions are really what caught my attention. Armstrong seems to really know how it feels to be a wolf - or at least how to describe it so it seems that way!

Elena Michaels seems like the typical strong and sexy modern woman. She lives with her architect boyfriend, writes for a popular newspaper, and works out at the gym.She is also a werewolf.

Elena has done all she can to assimilate the human world, but the man whose bite changed her existence forever, and his legacy, continue to haunt her. Thrown into a desperate war for survival that tests her allegiance to a secret clan of werewolves, Elena must reckon with who and what she is in this passionate, page turning novel!!!

Excellent book!!!!

I really liked this book. I got into the characters, and their lives and enjoyed the story. I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

Elena is trying to blend in as a human, but it's getting difficult to keep disappearing at night to change and hunt. It's also hard, as well as un-healthy, to conceal her hunger. She's a werewolf who has left her pack after not being able to forgive her ex Clay for biting her without her consent, thus turning her into a werewolf. Even though she has been away for awhile she still can't suppress her feelings for him. This makes it hard for Elena to commit to her current human lover. When Elena is called home by her old pack leader, Jeremy, to help solve crimes involving "mutts" (werewolves not a part of the pack), she reluctantly agrees and becomes the animal that she has tried for so long to keep at bay. Also, returning home means returning to a life filled with Clay and pack laws.

I know I'm really late on this series, but here it goes anyway. I really, really, REALLY enjoyed these characters. Elena is strong, but she has her weaknesses and a major one is Clay. Who only has eyes for Elena and will never move on. There are some really sweet scenes between these two, and some really steamy scenes. I liked the idea of the werewolves working within the Pack, following Pack laws, and those who weren't a part of the Pack are "mutts". Sometimes the plot was predictable, BUT that doesn't make it any less enjoyable. The protagonists are easy to cheer for, and the antagonists are very easy to hate.

If you haven't started this series, definitely start from the beginning. Also, Kelley Armstrong has a TON of short stories on her website that can be read starting before Bitten, and in between the printed books in the series, so be sure you read those too.

Took a while for the story to pick up for me, but definitely worth the wait. A werewolf trying to fit in in the city that gets called back home. Great start to a series

This was the 1st in a series that I started, based on a recommendation from another PBS reader who liked another series (The Carpathians) that I liked. Anyway, she suggested this one so I gave this 1st book a try. I wasn't too sure at first who I was rooting for. Sweet, kind, wouldn't-hurt-a-fly Paul, or crazy, dark, dominant Clay. The only downside to the book was that she hurt Paul, which I'm never a fan of. Other than that, I loved the down-to-earth writing. It was modern, sexy, thrilling and super fun to read! As soon as I finished it, I wish-listed the other 9 books in the series.

This book is a great beginning to a great series. Ms Armstrong is a talented, highly imaginitive writer who makes you wish you could be a member of the pack.

This was a rather cute werewolf book. I really did enjoy it - it was pretty exciting, if a little silly in the romance department, but overall, it made for a fun read and provided how this next book goes, I think I'll keep reading this series.

Kelley Armstrong tells the story of the only known female werewolf who has to come to grips with her past, her dreams for the future and choosing between 2 men. Not ever having read a book specifically about werewolves, I was a bit hesitant. I was not disappointed. Passionately written, this is a story that will leave you satisfied yet still wanting for more. The story of Elena and Clay is volatile as well as tender. The werewolves are depicted as private, family oriented and loyal. Plenty of passion, but not porn. You can't help but love Elena, who is not your typical female. She is tough, strong and witty. A beautiful story!

This book was good reminding me a little bit like the "Kitty goes to" series by Carrie Vaughn

Pretty good. Slow in places but that could be because there needs to be set up for a series.....I'll read the next one. I liked the characters and the plot line was interesting.

Not exactly what I expected. It left something to be desired. Gets a slow start and works its way through to an interesting ending. Try it if you are into werewolfs.

Angelika F. (READ-LEARN-LAUGH) reviewed on 6/19/2009...

Love love this book .It has a strong heroine who does not go gaga for love. a Heroine who can eat like a horse and doesn't worry about her figure (she runs it off)Does not care for Prada or any other designer label. So ok she turns into a were wolf has a hard time fitting into human society but hey we all have our faults. For this genre I have finally found a series that I love.

I thought that I had bought a book on werewolves (generic fiction). I got a romance novel - if you are looking for a romance novel, dive in, otherwise, I would stay away.

I have to say that I really enjoyed this book. Elena was such a riveting character. It's rare that I find a book where I am so drawn in to their personality, that I feel the same emotions as that character. She was strong, witty, and loyal. Throughout the story, she struggled with her dual desires: to live a human life and to fully embrace her werewolf life. I liked her interactions with the others, especially Clay. He was driven to keep her with the Pack, but seemed to learn from his previous mistakes by taking a different approach with her. There were many suspenseful moments as well that was surprisingly pleasant. The outcome to her wants and the danger that the Pack faced was believable and realistic. This was a nice start to this series.

I enjoyed this book and the second, but some of the others seem to drag on.

This is a great PBS book as its a quick fun read. I really enjoyed the complex relationship of the main characters, Elena and Clay, as well as and the twist on the werewolf dynamics (mutts vs. pack).

I loved this book. Armstrong describes everything in this book wonderfully. I've since started to collect the other books in the series, and have already read the 2nd one. Definetly one of the best paranormal romances I've picked up thus far.

First book of this kind I have read. Read it on a whim. To my surprise it was quite engaging and interesting. I am reading the 2nd book in the series now. Never thought I would read the first book, let alone get hooked on the series. Worth the read if you're looking for something different and interesting to take your mind off the real world.

A fast-paced novel about a young female werewolf, who'd rather live like a normal, un-supernatural person, and the happily werewolf-ish man who loves her. Sexual tension (and not just tension), lethal danger and complex family relations galore. The first in the Women of the Otherworld series.

Eh, it was okay. It lagged a bit and took a long time to build empathy for the main character, Elena. It's an interesting story with lots of twists and turns, but certainly not ground breaking. It's a fun beach blanket read.
