Book Reviews of Summer in the City

This was a fun quick read. It is a story about a guy from New York and a girl from London who participate in a job swap sponsored by their advertising company. The book was pretty cute and predictable like most chic lit but it was an enjoyable story. I especially like the way it describes the two cities very well.

I really enjoyed this book about two strangers pathes crossing in an unusual way. I thought this was one of Sisman's better books.

Robyn Sisman is wonderful, funny, and delightful.

This is a fun, light read, reminiscent of Jane Green or Helen Fielding. I enjoyed the settings of London and NYC.

Originally published in the U.K. in a slightly different form and with the title Perfect Strangers (1998), this spirited story by the author of the bestselling Weekend in Paris features a romance that blossoms thanks to a transatlantic apartment swap. Londoner Suze Wilding swears she'll never get married; New Yorker Lloyd Rockwell has the perfect girlfriend. They both work for the ad agency Scheider Fox, but Suze is a bit low on the totem pole on the U.K. side and Lloyd's sort of a hotshot in Manhattan. What will bring them together? Predictable, but enjoyable and a quick read.
