A stunningly beautiful, powerful witch who possesses the gift of Fire, Mia Devlin locked her heart away when Sam Logan rejected her youthful love and left Three Sisters Island. Eleven years later, Sam returns to the island to claim Mia and take over his family business, the Magick Inn. Passion still burns between them, but Mia refuses to trust the man who once tore her life apart, leaving her grieving and alone. It's imperative that they find a way to resolve their thorny, complicated relationship for time is running out and the deadline for breaking a centuries-old curse is near. Mia has the steadfast aid of her two sisters of the heart, powerful witches that rule Air and Earth, but without Sam's help, even Mia's powers may not be enough to keep her alive until the deadline. And unless Mia makes the right choice about her heart and Sam, evil may win in the final confrontation, destroying all their lives and Three Sisters Island as well.

I liked all three books. I could not wait to read this one. But, I was kinda disappointed in this one. I thought there would be more fire between the two. But it was a good read.

It's been a while since I've read this type of mysterious, romantical novel. Generally I stay away from them. But this trilogy is really pretty good. Each book stands on its own, and each book also adds to the richness of the story told in the trilogy. Each character has their own quirks and reasons to love them. I recommend all three books.

Fun! I didn't need to read the other 2 books to enjoy this magical story. A cozy feeling of friendship & place, love story that tugs both ways, and an unusual acceptance of magic in the lives of ordinary people. Really a nice read.

Great end to the series, even though you never want it to end. I wish she would write at least 100 books in each of her series to keep us going!

Third book in Three Sisters Island Trilogy. You need to read the first two to know what's going on here. Very good ending to the trilogy. Nora Roberts always tells a great story.

Vicki A. reviewed on 2/25/2009...

Roberts rushed through this one and it had a different feel from the first two. Ok but not as good as the others. You must read it to see what happens to the sisters in the end.

Third book in the Three Sisters Island series and the exciting conclusion. It's the story of Mia Devlin and her lover, Sam Logan. He left her once. Can she forgive him and trust him once again to be her lover? Will the dire prophesy of the island being swallowed up by the ocean be fulfilled? Or, can the three sisters save it from ruination? It's another Nora book that will be difficult to put down.

The final book in the Three Sisters Island trilogy. Mia Devlin knows what it's like to love with your whole heart-and then watch your love walk away. Years ago, she and Sam Logan shared an incredible bond built on passion, legend, and fate. But then one day he fled Three Sisters Island, leaving her lost in memories of the magic they shared -and determind to live without love... The new owner of the island's only hotel, Sam has returned to Three Sisters with hopes of winning back Mia's affections. He is puzzled when she greets him with icy indifference-for the chemistry between them is still sizzling and true. Angry, hurt and deeply confused, Mia refuses to admit that a passion for Sam still burns in her heart. But she'll need his help-and his powers-to face her greatest, most terrifying challenge. And as the deadline for breaking a centuries-old curse draws near, they must take the first stelp toward destiny-and come together to turn back the dark.......

The conclusion to the Three Sisters Island Trilogy.

This book mainly focuses on Mia Devlin, the so called "Witch of Three Sisters." The actions set in motion in Dance Upon The Sea and Heaven And Earth come to a head in Face The Fire. Nell and Ripley faced the darkness and came out stronger, finding love with Zach Todd and Mac Booke in the process. Now it is left to Mia to bring an end to the 300-year-old curse and also to face her fears and loneliness as her former love, Sam Logan, returns to the island after a decade long absence.

Ross M. (Parrothead) reviewed on 10/15/2006...

The final installment in Roberts's Three Sisters trilogy (after Heaven and Earth), which is set on a New England island called Three Sisters, lacks the compelling emotional drama that has won her such a loyal readership. After being abandoned by her lover 12 years before, white witch Mia Devlin has developed a charming bookstore and cafe, a spectacular garden and a close circle of friends, all of whom share her involvement in the Craft. Only an age-old curse mars Mia's idyllic existence and threatens the future of the island itself. Then her former flame, Sam Logan himself a witch returns to the island, determined to win Mia back. The paranormal elements that tastefully flavored a number of Roberts's earlier titles is a bland additive here, creating the book's only suspense and filling scene after scene with discussions and manifestations of magic. Those who don't believe in spells, charms or paranormal wolves may find it hard to enjoy this story and the hokey chanting that comes with it ( No one who passes now need fear. You can do no more harm here ). As always, Roberts's prose is gracefully styled, and her storytelling is deft despite the weak material. But with perfect jobs, perfect homes, perfect hair and the force of the Craft behind them, Mia and company are barely human enough to move the reader's heart.

This is the third book of the trilogy, and it lives up to the promise of the other two. It reiterates the story of Three Sisters Island, supposedly founded by a witch several hundred years ago, fortelling of the time when the three should come together to fight evil. This book focuses on Mia Devlin, who has lived on Three Sisters her whole life, and on Sam Logan, her high-school sweetheart, who left the island and Mia. This climactic coming together will keep you on the edge of your seat!

Face the Fire is the third and last book in bestselling author Nora Roberts's trilogy of witches, magic, and an age-old curse that began with Dance upon the Air and Heaven and Earth. This novel boasts a vivid seaside setting, sympathetic characters, and enough details about the practice of magic to intrigue the most cynical of readers. This is Roberts at her best. This book is the last in the "Three Sisters Island Trilogy" of books from Nora Roberts. I absolutely LOVED this book and the entire trilogy! She is without a doubt the best FEMALE writer around!!!! I never hesitate to pick up a book written by Nora Roberts as I know she doesn't disappoint. You have to read the first 2 to be able to know what is going on with this series of 3 books. If you have questions I may be contacted for more info on this particular book.......A++++++ GREAT and I give KUDOS to Ms Roberts !!!!

Sarah T. (sarah5775) reviewed on 12/30/2005...

This is the first and only Nora Roberts book I have read. I wanted to read it to see what all the fuss was about Roberts' books. To be honest, I was a little disappointed. Some of the dialouge and descriptions just seemed corny. On the upside though, it was pretty suspenseful. Since I didn't read the first two books in the series, I don't think I got the full experience of this book. Though I never had trouble understanding what was going on- Roberts explains the past of the characters. If you like Nora Roberts, or if you like books with a healthy dose of magic and Wicca (the characters call themselves Wiccan but I'm not sure how much it matches the actual religion) you will probably enjoy this book. The main characters cast spells, and the spells always rhyme. Some people might think that was cool, I just thought it was annoying. I do, however, know some people who really loved this book. I guess it all comes down to whether or not you like romances.

I really loved this entire trilogy! The best Nora books I've ever read so far. I think it was a bit over stated how Nell is such a great cook.. and other character references were a bit over used, but it didnt disrupt the whole story.

This is the conclusion of the Three Sister Trilogy and as always with a Nora Roberts "read", it was a fabulous book.

Normally I do not read romance. I was going on a long car trip and picked a book on tape of the first book in the series. I liked it well enough to buy the 2nd book (which I cannot find) and this one the 3rd in the trilogy. For all those Nora Roberts fans out there; you'll like it.
