What can I say? I waited at the bookstore today for the clerk to put out this book. Bought the book. Came home, opened the book and didn't stop till I finished. That's right...skipped supper...it was totally worth it. Nora's done it again. I loved the first book, "Blood Brothers" and "The Hollow" kept me riveted. Unfortunately, now I have to wait til December 08 for the final book "The Pagan Stone" to be released. Doubtless I'll be waiting at the bookstore for them to open then too.

The second book is the story of Fox. It's also the continuation of the battle to defeat the demon Fox and his two 'blood brothers' accidentally released on their mutual 10th birthday. Since that horrible day, every seven years for seven days, the town of Hawkins Hollow undergoes a demonic transformation into a living hell. All the portents show that THIS time, THIS battle will be the final one. Now three women with a mysterious connection to this ancient evil have arrived in Hawkins Hollow. They have come, consciously and unconsciously, to help defeat the demon.

One of those women is Layla. She's the outsider and isn't really sure how she ended up in Hawkins Hollow...much less involved in this crazy situation. She and Fox are somehow connected, and VERY attracted to each other. But the two of them have several things they need to work out for themselves and for each other before they can truly work together...and Fox and Layla will need to work together in order to help their mutual friends survive to participate in the final battle.

I wish I had more self-control and could keep myself from reading Nora's books until the whole trilogy was published. But I'm weak...and a readaholic. On the plus side, I'll get to re-read the first two before the final book comes out in December!!

I should probably feel bad that I ignored my husband and children for seven straight hours while I read THE HOLLOW, the second book in Nora Roberts' THE SIGN OF SEVEN trilogy.

I don't.

Seriously, once you start in on this story, featuring Fox O'Dell and Layla Darnell, which is even better than the first book, you won't be able to stop reading. Of course, I'll no doubt say that the third book in the series, which doesn't come out until December (the horror!!), is even better than this one, but I'll deal with that when it happens.

Fox, Cal, Gage, Layla, Quinn, and Cybil are all back, all working to prepare themselves to destroy the demon that will be coming to do his dirty work during The Seven (see first book for definitions, as I'm not going to tell you!). There's more evil, more horror, and more information learned this time around. Basically, it's the first book amped up a bit.

Trust me, you want to read THE HOLLOW. You want to ignore your husband and children for a few hours. You want to scream when you realize you're not going to get the rest of the story for seven more loooong months.

This whole series leaves me 'hollow' -- uninteresting stick figures for characters with interchangeable personalities, predictable and repetitious dialog. I know this is mass-market genre fiction, but NR used to be a better [at least more interesting] writer. This book is an empty placeholder on the way to part three; I don't care enough about these characters to bother with the grand finale.

I am not usually a paranormal reader, but Nora Roberts write them so exquisitely, that I cannot pass them up. This book is the Second in the Sign of Seven and as all of them, it shows a relationship among the characters, not just the man and woman relationship. But a relationship among friends and the compassion for others. The paranormal part is very exciting and it is hard to put the book down. I had waited till they all came out before reading any of them. I knew from her others, I would not be able to wait for the conclusion. And there always seems to be a little history in her books. I highly recommend it, even if just for the relationship & support for one another, but the paranormal is the part that is intriguing. It really keeps you on your toes.

This is the second book in this series. Its Fox and Layla turn to help fight the demons. I loved this book. Read it fast and now I will have to wait till Dec. 2008 to read the third and last of this series. I would recommened read the books in order because they talk some of what they did last time in this book.

This is the book two of Nora Roberts Sign of Seven Trilogy. It is another great set. It keeps you reading all night to find out what is going to happen. Smoke free home.

To start, I had trouble getting through this book the first time-it went from weird to boring and back in turns.

Fox and Layla are part of a group of six who are on a mission to fight an evil demon that soon threatens to take over Fox's home town, Hawkins Hallow. The are both gifted with unique psychic talents that include the ability to read minds. They find themselves drawn to one another as they work together to fight the demon.

Fox and Layla are actually very appealing characters, as are they all. Their romance is fun and fascinating, despite the distractions of the confused plot.

This book is hard to get into. It begins to take a departure from logic and reason. The entire concept of the demon becomes less and less credible as the book progresses, and the explanations of it's existence are vague and flimsy. Equally weak are the 'ghosts' that constantly visit characters to deliver vague, fortune-cookie like advice.

Overall the concept is good, and there are some amusing portions, but the trilogy falls short of Nora Roberts' usual standard.

This the second of a set of three. It's interesting but bogs down with the six looking for ways to kill the beast.

This is the 2nd book in the Sign of Seven Trilogy. I have gotten into this story, and cannot wait unit the 3rd one. Worth the read.

Part 2 of the sign of 7 series. I loved this book. It was just as good as the first if not better. Nora Roberts is great. I can't wait to read the 3rd book.

This book was a great read. The story had the elements of romance and suspense all rolled into one. Nora Roberts really knows how to write a page turner.

Excellent 2nd book in the trilogy. Builds on each character, and fills in the blanks as to why and how. I found all 3 books hard to put down.

Who doesn't love Nora Roberts?? This series is scary and the monster seems unbeatable and there are only 3 men and 3 women working to kill this beast that takes over their small town every 7 years and causes havoc. Not difficult to see why Nora Roberts is a #1 NY Times bestselling author.

How 6 peoples lives can be connected and conquer the deamons. Ever 7 years this evil falls upon the city but why? Love and understanding can conquer all

Lisa L. (lisaliddiard) reviewed on 1/29/2009...

This second book in the trilogy series was my favorite. The author went far in the the characters Fox and Layla and their new relationship.

The story does crawl at times when the group over analyzes everything about the demon and the coming attack of Hawkins Hollow.

But..it's a fun read.

Make sure you read these in order so you know whats going on.

1. Blood Brothers
2. The Hollow
3. Pagan Stone

An amazing book. I haven't read Blood brothers yet but it's on the way in the mail to me as I speak from a lady here on the site. And I can't wait for The Pagan Stone to come out. It is ready for sell on November 25th according to Nora Roberts web site http://www.noraroberts.com and supposedly available for order at only 7.99
so if I can't find it here pretty soon after it comes out, then no doubt I'll be ordering it from her site cause I really want to read it. Nora Roberts is amazing when it comes to writing, I can't put any of her books down once I get started.

After I read "Blood Brothers" in just a few short days, I went out and got this one at the library and read it all in less than 24 hours! I am loving the storyline that adds the supernatural with suspense and romance. The first book followed one of the "pairs", Caleb and Quinn. This book followed Fox and Layla. I love how she is focusing on each one of the "brothers" in their own book. Can't wait for the final installment!

Dont miss even a little bit of this book or you will being going nuts trying to figure out what happened.......story starts out like a cross between Hitchcock's "the Birds" and a Steven King novel..........

Nora Roberts does it again. The intertwining of romance and adventure are perfect.
She makes the unexplainable feel like it could actually happen. I liked this book better than the 1st in the trilogy and can't wait for the final installment.

Wendy F. (wendysareader) reviewed on 8/3/2008...

NR does it again! This book, although #2 in a series, could stand on its own. The mystery around the Pagan Stone and all it's slated to be is really interesting. Another one I couldn't put down...read it in one day!

Karen A. (karn818) - Melrose, MA reviewed on 7/27/2008...

Loved Blood Brothers & this one is excellent too.. A little supernatural to go along with the romance. Quick read, really love the characters.

This is the second in the series of the Sign of Seven by Nora Roberts and as always, they just get better and better. This book was fast reading and hard to put down. It will be a long wait for the third one coming out in December.

Barbara S. (5927) reviewed on 7/8/2008...

I liked this one although I had not read the previous one in the series. Very interesting. It has something for everybody-mystery, history, romance and an ending you have to find.

Donna P. (dmparker33) reviewed on 7/1/2008...

Great second book in this new trilogy. We learn more of the Seven in this book and the group learns more about how powerful they can be together.
