One of her better ones, filler with plot twists and turns up to the very last page. It is a WOW, OH MY GOSH!!! Starting with an abduction of a 12 year old girl 25 years ago.....Read this one and you will be hooked as I am on this author.

This was phenomenal....it keeps you guessing right up to the end, and even then, you're left wondering if what you think happened really did. Very suspenseful, and focuses primarily on the male protagonist.

"Alone" reads like a television miniseries and if you're after suspense, action and some psychological twists, this is the novel for you.

The character development of Bobby is excellent, and the storyline was pretty good. However, the last 50 pages seemed a bit rushed. It was disappointing that this book was missing Gardner's usual romantic component. However, the story was good, and the characters were complex and compelling, and I hope to see Bobby in another of her books. Overall it's a good read.

Gardner reveals a "behind-the-scenes", in-depth look at how a hostage situation can play out from a sniper's perspective. State Trooper Bobby Dodge's life will forever be changed after a split-second decision to pull the trigger. Even after years of training, he is not prepared for the consequences of that decision and the aftermath that unfolds.
Intense drama and suspense....I highly recommend this book.

After reading tons of suspense books, I can usually predict everything that is going to happen. But not with this book. Bobby Dodge is a great character you just can't help rooting for. This book has twists and turns you certainly don't see coming. Anyone who likes a great page-turner will love this book.

Thought this was a little different for a Gardner. No romance, just very good suspense. A police sniper shoots a man he thinks is about to shoot a hostage. Hostage is the man's wife and the man is the son of a prominent judge. Was the shooting justified, or was it murder?

Great psychological thriller! A SWAT officer on scene kills an abusive husband who is ready to shoot his wife, who's holding their four year old son. Now the dead man's parents are suing him, claiming he murdered their son, and that the wife, who was abducted by a pedophile as a young girl and still has 'issues', was abusing the child. With his world turned upside down, and secrets of his own, Officer Dodge needs answers and absolution, as killing in the line of duty isn't as justifyable as he'd imagined.

The man's finger tightens on the trigger and Dodge has only a split second to react . . . and forever pay the consequences.
Alone . . . that's where the nightmare began for cool, beautiful, and dangerously sexy Catherine Rose Gagnon. Lisa Gardner knows how to write a thriller that hooks the reader from the very beginning and this book is no exception.

Bobby is a state trooper, specializing as a sniper in a hostage response team. He responds to a call in which a husband is holding a gun to his wife and son. Bobby makes the deadly decision to shoot and his decision opens up a world of questions, lawsuits, and murder.

This book kept me riveted from page one. Gardner does a great job with creating mysterious characters that could all possibly be "the bad guy".
