Started yesterday -- finished today! I remember noticing Woodworth's writing style and little details when I read Through Violet Eyes, but this book went down in two quick gulps! It's a very fast-paced story, and I gave in and let myself fly through it.
It's not the happiest story. It left me feeling a bit sad and grim so I think I'll take a little break before jumping into the next book in the series.
But I'll definitely be continuing on with the series though! The Violets make for great plots and Woodworth is a good storyteller. I'd also recommend these books to anyone who likes thrillers or paranormals.
But ugh! It took Natalie forever to do the thing I immediately thought of doing when the going got tough! Geez girl, if you're holding a good card then go ahead and play it! Maybe part of my rush to get to the end was to find out if she ever going to do the obvious! :P

Very good! This is the second in a series and although I did some major skimming during the courtroom scene(s), I was completely absorbed in the rest of the story.

Second part of a fabulous new series. The Violets can be inhabited by the dead. Now the victims get revenge. But with this book, there is a twist. A corrupt Violet is facing Natalie and is going to make her go back into her career. Taking away her new life, to protect her daughter, her father and herself.

Fine, spooky thriller in the "Through Violet Eyes" universe, this one with a corrupt Violet being used to channel a spirit intent on destroying Natalie Lindstrom and everyone she loves.

Liked the series, I found it original and entertaining. I thought the premise of using mediums in court to be original and interesting. The writing style was fine, the characters were believable.

By the author of Through Violet Eyes. Natalie is one who has the power to interview the dead victims of violent crime. And she knows that a young man is getting away with murder...

A good book. Never was sure if I was reading sci-fi or crime. It didn't take long for me to believe that it's real!

Natalie Lindstrom was once one of an elite group of investigators with the power to interview the dead victims of violent crime. But now Natalie has had enough. Enough of the violence. Enough of the darkness that has already gotten too close to her five-year-old daughter. Yet as she tries to build a new life and protect her child from the world she has left, Natalie still knows injustice when she sees it. And she knows that in a high profile California trial, a young man is getting away with murder.
The case against Prescott Hyland Jr. is airtight--until a corrupt Violet delivers devastating testimony against another man. Now Natalie is being drawn back into her former career and a danger far worse than she can imagine. For while one killer is being tried in a courtroom, another has gone horribly free: to unleash a storm of vengeance-aimed straight for the heart of Natalie's new life. Because, in a world of the Violets, sometimes your past can literally come back to haunt you...

This is the 2nd book in a series from this author. If you love mysteries with a strong female leading character, don't hesitate to read this one. This is a great author.

This is the 2nd in the Violet series. Think this was better than the first book. Natalie now has a daughter, has left the core and is building and new life.

I actually enjoyed this one more than the first one. The murder/mystery part of the storyline was much more interesting, although much gorier. I enjoyed learning more about Natalie and her past. The history behind her mother and how it all played into this book.
The relationship between Natalie and Dan was very thought provoking. I mean wouldn't everyone be tempted to hold on to someone if the could? But wouldn't it be a bit selfish?
All in all a very good read and I am looking forward to reading the third one.

Interesting plot...and characters.
She can connect the living with the dead. She can help bring justice to the murdered. But now a killer is out to stop her...with his own red hands. The case against Prescott Hyland, Jr. is airtight...until a corrupt Violet delivers devastating testimony against another man. Now Natalie is being drawn back into her former career and a danger far worse than she can imagine. For while one killer is being tried in a courtroom, another has gone horribly free; to unleash a storm of vengeance---aimed straight for the heart of Natalie's new life. Because, in the world of the Violets, sometimes your past can literally come back to haunt you....

A good follow up to the first book "Through Violet Eyes." If you like TVE, you'll like this one.
An excellent sequel to "Through Violet Eyes"!
The characters are wonderful and the idea of the Violets being able to speak for the dead is so creepy and fascinating.
I can't wait to read more about the Violets.
