Silly, silly, silly. Just "naughty" enough to appeal to elementary age boys without going over the top.

It's not hard to understand why kids love these books. They are very visual, employ several different story-telling methods and are fun to hear. My older boy who read them himself passed them down to the younger whom I read them to. He wanted to get them all. He loved them!

One of my son's Captain Underpants books that he made me get for him. I didn't get it, but maybe I am just too old! HA!

If I were a boy again, I would probably have read this myself. My son really likes these books, which I can understand with his twisted sense of humor. Hey he is a boy afterall.

The boys in grade 2 through 6 loves this serios of books from Dav Pilkey. My son reads them and then reads them again. Great for those who are to get to read. Boys relate to them.

Great! One of my kids favorites. About a little boy and his wild imagination.

Very cute and funny. I didn't like the misspelled words; I know it is supposed to be a reflection of the "kids" writing the story, but I would want my child to read and learn vocabulary in the process.

Really funny and cute book! It is good for "chapter readers" or to be read aloud. Fun for boys or girls, though the main characters are boys.

Grade 2-5-Pilkey packs an amazing amount of humor into what could have been a one-gag novel. Besides turning their principal into a silly superhero, George and Harold play tricks on just about everyone. They pepper pom-poms, put bubble bath in tubas, and fill a football with helium. Pilkey's illustrations are half the fun, and that magical moment when the hypnotized Principal Krupp dons his Captain Underpants uniform and sings "Tra-La-Laaaaaaaa" is priceless. Krupp is a worthy successor to Lamar J. Spurgle, the nemesis of "the Cut-Ups" in James Marshall's great picture books. The "kneel here" sign in front of his desk says it all. Kid Appeal Award: Superheroes are always fascinating to kids. And children of a certain age will laugh at anything that has to do with underpants. Combining the two was a stroke of comic genius.
