As usual for Deaver, he takes you on a breath-taking ride from the very beginning of the book when the killing first starts, right through the end, where there is a big surprise! He even brought back for a brief (telephone) appearance, our old friend, criminologist Lincoln Rhyme. This one keeps you on edge throughout the whole book. Good one!

Great fiction about a serial killer named "the Digger".

Typical Deaver. A twisted, fun read with lots of interesting forensic-style "science" based on handwriting characteristics. I thoroughly enjoyed it and have read it several times.

The ending of this well-paced but truly deceptive thriller caught me off guard....Full of good characters and dialogue

action packed thriller, very Deaverish.

A madman guns down dozens of people in the Washington DC subway on the orders of an extortionist who has demanded twenty million dollars. Without the money, the madman will strike again. However, the extortionist is killed in an accident and the madman, known as The Digger, doesn't know. Therefore, he proceeds with the plans.

Really good, fast-paced novel. I liked this one even better than Deaver's Lincoln Rhyme novels. Parker Kincaid, a document examiner, is a great character, and the identity of the Digger will keep you guessing until the end.

A very good psychological thriller. I enjoyed this one more than The Bone Collector, which is the only other Deaver book I have read.
