The characters I have grown to enjoy through the first three Cedar Cove books are all back and moving forward/backward in their lives. Opening the pages of this book was like going home to visit with these dear friends I've become very fond of. Debbie Macomber has not only given us another visit to this charming town and added new dimensions to the characters, but also provides us with a suspenseful resolution to the murder that occurred back in book one.
The focal point of this story is the home of Peggy and Bob Beldon who manage the Thyme and Tide B and B at 44 Cranberry Point. Nerves have been on edge with Peggy and Bob since a fellow Vietnam soldier, Max Russell, was found murdered at the inn. Bob, a recovering alcoholic, has the biggest challenge of his sober years when the need for a drink overtakes him. Will he manage to control himself or will he throw away all his hard work and good intentions?
In addition to the main characters, minor characters such as Rachel the nail tech, widower Bruce Peyton, Stanley Lockhart and others make appearances and propel the storyline, thanks in large part to a hilarious Dog and Bachelor auction which makes matches and mismatches aplenty.
Debbie Macomber has given us the perfect soap opera in book form and I eagerly look forward to each new installment. I would advise readers to begin at the beginning to eliminate any confusion in this multi-populated series.

Debbie Macomber is such a delightful author. Her stories are light and entertaining, but also touch that special place in the reader's heart. I can always relate to her stories--her characters are so real, her settings are vivid, the plot believable.

This book was awesome. It is a romance book with none of the smut. It talks about real life situations that could and do really happen. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am have decided to read the whole series. You really get sucked into the mayberry atmosphere of cedar cove where everyone is connected and knows everyone else.

So far this has been my fav in the series. We still keep in contact with everyone from the first 3 books and again we are still learning more about various residents of Cedar Cove. I look foward to the next in the series.

This book was OK. It was the first of her books I have read and I felt it just had too many characters. Not enough excitement going on in the story for me.

I love this series. I'm not a big romance fan, but this series hooked me and good.
I wouldn't miss these stories, and readers new to Cedar Cove won't have any trouble picking up the threads of these engaging characters' lives.

I picked this up after not reading her books for a while and remembered quickly how much I enjoyed Debbie Macomber's books. Her character development is good and you really feel like you can see the streets that are in Cedar Cove.

This is the 4th book in this series and each book takes you farther into the lives of the fictional people of cedar grove. I can't wait to go on to the next book to read what has happened next between falling in love, break ups, murder and personal tragidies.

cedar cove is the setting for this book. it is about the different people that live in this little town and the happenings in their lives.this focus is on three men who have been in vietnam together. two are from this town. one is dead, apparently a sucide, another one comes to stay at the other ones b&b one stormy night (was not recognized) and is discovered dead the next morning. also there is the lady judge that passes out very odd sentences. very good read.

This latest installment of the Cedar Cove series focuses on Bob and Peggy Beldon after a former comrade of Bob's from Vietnam dies in their bed-and-breakfast. His murder is much on their minds as Bob once again relives war horrors and suspects that he is next on the murderer's list. Grace Sherman is learning to live with a broken heart and has no one but herself to blame. The man she loves, Cliff Harding, has left her after he finds out she has been "cheating" on him online. Grace chastises herself and prepares to spend the rest of her life alone until Cliff's daughter convinces her to fight for him. Meanwhile, Cecelia is ready to try to have another baby after the tragic death of their daughter, but husband Ian is not ready. Fans of Macomber's series shouldn't miss these stories, and readers new to Cedar Cove won't have any trouble picking up the threads of these engaging characters' lives.

Part of the Cedar Cove series.
In this fourth entry, Peggy and Bob Beldon, owners of the Thyme & Tide B&B, are still recovering from the shock of discovering Bob's war buddy, Max Russell, murdered in one of their rooms. Bob suspects that Max's death has something to do with a horrible experience in Vietnam and now finds himself looking over his shoulder, fearing for his own safety. More unsettling is Max's fragile daughter, who shows up on a stormy night seeking shelter and answers. Almost everyone from Macomber's previous books (311 Pelican Court, etc.) makes an appearance in this one, each with his or her own bit of drama.
Another wonderful book full of interesting people that is part of a series. The characters seem like real people you might know in your own life.
