I've enjoyed all of Debbie Macomber's books, including this Cove series, but this one was so ho hum to the point of being boring. I'm surprised the characters in the book didn't fall off the pages in a dead sleep. Too much of it was repeating the things from previous books. There was nothing exciting in it to make me want to read the next one in the series.

I did not enjoy this book and skipped a lot of the chapters. I like this author's writing; I don't like it when each chapter is a separate story and the reader needs to learn a whole new story, new people and new circumstances every few pages. The story is all chopped into pieces and it's several chapters before you return to the story and people you started with. Then you read another few pages about them, then suddenly the next chapter is about someone else you probably met about 4 chapters ago, and so on and so on. If you like this style of writing and you have kept up with all the people living in Cedar Grove during the past several books, you'll probably enjoy this book. But if you don't yet know anyone in Cedar Grove, I would recommend you start with an earlier book in the series.

First book in this series I have ever read. I enjoyed the book. Had a hard time putting it down. Got so wrapped up in all the characters. I felt so sorry for Emily & her husband Dave. And also felt bad for sheriff Davis & Faith. I sure will go back and read all the books before this one in this series. Good reading.

It just keeps me anxiously waiting the next one! Read this series in order, if you can. Each book builds on the last. I highly recommend this series for one you won't want to put down!

Book #8 in the Cedar Cove series. This book is about Dave and Emily Flemming the pastors of Cedar Cove. Of course, you catch up some on the other members of the town. I enjoy this series, but you do need to read them in order as they build on each other and there is a little mystery in each. There is also always an unanswered question or mystery at the end of each book that is answered or solved in the next book.

In Cedar Groove, Washington, Emily fears her husband Pastor Dave Flemming is having an affair. She is not sure who, but has found proof; Dave's jacket pocket contained another woman's earring and he comes home late at night, but will not tell her where he has been.
If he is not committing adultery, Emily fears he is grave robbing. He spent a lot time with a dying congregation member giving solace; after the person past away her relatives claim her jewelry was stolen. Dave had access to the woman's home and that damaging earring in his pocket. Emily prays to God for guidance to help her decide what to.
The latest Cedar Cove contemporary tale is an engaging story due to Emily's quandary as to what she should do. As always the support cast is solid and the audience receives updates on what is happening to the prime players from previous novels (see 74 SEASIDE AVENUE) and new neighbors are introduced (Like Sheriff Troy Davis' former love Faith Beckwith). Readers will enjoy the latest trek to Washington State as Emily wonders whether her moral kind husband has gone to the dark side.

Synopsis
Dear Reader,
I have something to confide in you. I think my husband, Dave, might be having an affair. I found an earring in his pocket, and it's not mine. I'm also worried because some jewelry was recently stolen from an old womanâ€"and Dave used to visit her a lot.
You see, he's a pastor. And a good man. I can't believe he's guilty of anything, but why won't he tell me where he's been when he comes home so late?
Reader, I'd love to hear what you think. I also want to tell you what's going on with your other friends in Cedar Cove. Like Sheriff Troy Davis, to mention one. His long-ago love, Faith Beckwith, just moved here!
So come on in and join me for a cup of tea.
Emily Flemming

A good book - like all of her books, a little disappointed though with the skipping of story lines. Not as FANTASTIC as every book of hers that I have read. Maybe that is a hint that the next book will follow with those story lines that she skipped thru. I never really understood where the 8 sandpiper way came in. Still a good book.

If you've been reading this series you don't really need a review. If you haven't been reading the series I would suggest that you start with the first book, 16 Lighthouse Road, and start there. This is book 8, so obviously I enjoy the author and her work!

I had a hard time getting into this book, but once I did, I really liked it. I can't wait for the next one to come out. It is nice to get an update on previous characters as well and learn about new ones.

Another great Cedar Cove book. Fast reading. This time jewelry is missing, a dead body is discovered, & the sheriff is having no luck with his love life.
