an old-fashioned tale of four orphans who set out to make it on their own. Reading level 3, and a great read aloud for 6 and 7 year olds.

I remember this being my one of my favorite series as a child. These are some great stories!

This is the first in the beloved series.

One warm night four children stood in front of a bakery. No one knew them. No one knew where they came from.

Four orphan children set out to find a safe place to live and discover an old red boxcar that shelters them from a storm.

This is the first book in a wonderful series of books fromt the boxcar children!

My daughter loved this and has gone on to borrow all the rest of the series from the library.

This is the first book in the series. A story about orphans determined to make it on their own. Very good story for children of all ages.

Me and my girls read this book for Sonlight Core K www.sonlight.com. We loved it and have read several of the sequels also.

This is a relly good book in my opinion. The story is really awesome.

Delightful and wonderful. I am a teacher and read it to my kids in class and they LOVED it and want me to find the rest of the set and continue the stories.

Great book for 8-12 year olds, Many in series

An excellent read... even for adults! I read this long ago and still have fond memories!

i loved this book as a kids and i still love it. its about 4 kids "roughing it" the togetherness and resourcefulness is what i like about it.

This is a great story for children! My children enjoyed it very much. It's about 4 children who parents die and they have to fend for themselves. It was very creative and well written!

This is a very good childrens book. It only took me two days to read it. I suggest this book to every kid that wants to start reading a series. I loved this book. As soon as i get the next one done I will post it!
