The authors are professional archaeologists, so it's historically correct, but they are great stories and the characters are vivid.

This book kept me interested from the first page until the last. It is a very moving story about a people's journey to survive changing times. It did not disappoint!

First of a great anthropologically based series beginning with the settlement of the epi glacial North American Continent and visiting tribal peoples ove the next few thousand years. I loved them all.

This series was a bit dry, but enjoyable all the same.

In the dawn of history, a valiant people forged a pathway from an old world into a new one. Led by a dreamer who followed the spirit of the wolf, a handful of courageous men and women dared to cross the frozen wastes to find an untouched, unspoiled continent. This is the magnificent saga of the vision-filled man who led his people to an awesome destiny, and the courageous woman whose love and bravery drove them on in pursuit of that dream.
A sweeping epic of prehistory, PEOPLE OF THE WOLF brings the true story of the ancestors of today's Native American peoples to life in an unforgettable saga of hardship and determination, conflict and passion.

I found this to be a bit over the top in the weaving of the spiritual and the historical. I'd have preferred less conjecture, more fact based story telling. It struck me as a dawn-of-modern-man soap opera. But it was still fun. I don't think I'll venture on to the rest of the books though.
