When is life really over? Is the end really just the start? Richard Matheson takes you threw a trip that will make you wonder, you will journey with Chris and his love for Annie.

This was one of my favorite books EVER. I loved the descriptions of the afterlife. It was SO much better than the movie. I would highly recomment this book to anyone.

The book is as amazing as the movie - I would recommend seeing the movie first (which I rarely do!)because the movie portrays Matheson's visions superbly! Let your imagination and heart wander as you read this amazing book!

Having somewhat recently lost my son, I found this book to bring great comfort and thought about what happens when we die. A very satisfying read.

Good book. It was fun of detail that you just can't get in the movie. It is the type of book that makes you think a little bit about what else is out there. It was just as good as the movie and has the same feel.

Several favorable reviews about this book persuaded me to read it, but it is not a book that I enjoyed. It seemed to be a pale retelling of Dante's Inferno, but unlike the dwellers in Dante's afterlife, the people in Matheson's "Summerland" and "lower realm" seemed more like zombies than real people. I also did not like the book's overall mystical, quasi-spiritualist tone, and thought that the ending was just plain awful.

The novel that became the hit movie! After life there is more! The end is just the Beginning!

It was a little crazy at times & hard to follow. Overall not the worst book I've ever read!

Heaven and hell as a state of mind? Totally works for me. While I thought the narrative part of the story stumbled a bit at the end, Matheson's principles contributed greatly to my ideals of what's next. Summerland.

Better than the movie but a lot but I still didn't care for this book at all. The ending was really silly.

This is a case where I liked the movie a LOT better than the book!

A heart-warming story of a past Olympic equestrian contender who loses everything then slowly wins it back through the love of a horse. Horse lovers will enjoy this one.
