Loved it! He's an extreme fighter turned Hollywood movie star who is now living in Ohio after being exonerated for a crime he didn't commit. She's an art gallery owner, pleasantly plump and beautiful to boot, but she doesn't think he'd have any interest in her because of her size. He finds her wildly attractive, unlike the size zero starving models in Hollywood and pursues her relentlessly. She keeps turning him down until one day her no good brother's gambling debts threaten not only his life but hers, and she turns to Jude for help. Jude's more than willing to protect her - for a price. But Jude soon learns that he never wants to let her go.

Really enjoyed this book. I read it the same day I received it in the mail. As soon as I finished it I quickly ordered the next in the series Murphy's Law. Hmmmm....Can I trade my husband for Jude?!?!

Another fun romance in the style of Janet Evanovich and Jennifer Crusie.

There's only so much frustration a guy can take before he gets a little nutty. For Jude Jamison, his frustration has a name - May Price. She's everything the former Hollywood bad boy actor came to Stillbrook, Ohio, hoping to find: open, honest, loveable, and full of those luscious curves you don't find on stick-figure starlets - curves May doesn't seem to appreciate in herself. Every time Jude tries to get closer to the skittish business woman, to take her in her arms, she thinks he's joking. Joking? Joking does not involve a lot of cold-shower therapy. Time for new tactics. If May can't respond to his sly compliments and sexy innuendos, he'll just have to spell it out for her. Jude Jamison is going to lay down the law for May Price. And after that she'll have no delusions about how much he wants her...

Can Jude win over May? You'll just have to read to find out...

He's an Ultimate Fighter with a heart of gold and more patience than one could imagine. You'll fall in love as quickly as the protagonist did.

Sexy bad boy Jude Jamison, a former prize-fighter and wealthy actor who has given up Hollywood for sleepy Stillbrook, Ohio, develops a mad crush on curvy, conservative gallery owner May Price in this appealing contemporary romance from bestseller Foster (Wild). Though May does her best to thwart Jude's bold advances, she winds up pleading for his help after her ne'er-do-well brother, $50,000 in debt, is beaten by loan shark goons. May and her brother have no choice but to borrow the money from Jude and hide out at his palatial Stillbrook estate. When Jude discovers that the terms of the debt involve a personal threat, he steps in to protect both May and himself. Jude and May are so graphically portrayed that it's impossible not to feel heat radiating off the pages, especially during their hard-earned love scenes, but their hostile back-and-forth makes their relationship, at times, forced and uncomfortable. However, neatly dovetailing plotlines and plenty of family drama more than compensate.

Great book! :Love her because her heroines are not skinny and perfect!

I absolutely enjoy this author! I have been reading everything that she has written, and so far have not been disappointed. This one is one of my favorites. I love that May is not your typical femme fatal; She is buxom, curvy, and desirable. Jude is a hot SCB ex fighter and very determined to get May into bed. There is a second book after this one and is just as good (Murphy's Law). You are introduced to these two characters in this book. A great read!

May was a voluptious woman. She always thought she was too fat. Jude always thought she was perfect. He was a star in several movies. When he came home and saw her, he couldn't believe his luck.
He had to find a way to get her in his clutches. Her brother was an alcoholic. He is the one that helped him do just that.

It was an ok story that would have been better if the main characters didn't have to have sex every other page. I understand that sex in a love story is needed, but I could have watched a porn movie if I wanted this much! It was like Lori Foster had this idea for a story and instead of compounding it into a novel, she took a novella and added enough sex scenes to make a novel. Lame in my opinion.

If you like Lori Foster at all, you'll definitely like this one.
May Price is a "caretaker" personality who has put herself on the sidelines to free herself up to take care of her highly disfunctional family. Jude Jamison, actor/athlete with a past, moves to small town discovers he likes her real woman curves and skittish behavior. She ignores his subtle comeons so he decides its time to spell it out for her...
There's also some good guy bad guy stuff and story threads laid for a potential series.

Lori Foster once again gives readers a delicious hero with an unusual profession. The insight into the sport of extreme fighting is intriguing and Jude is wonderfully written as a champion of the sport. May is self-assured and strong, a refreshing heroine who is unashamedly voluptuous. Jude is audacious in his relentless pursuit of May, who in turn is absolutely adorable as she struggles with her own emotions in response to his gentle, tender attentions. This is an excellently written book and I can easily give it a hearty recommendation. - Laurie Damron

Enjoyable read. Loved the perspective of the main character as a male; could've used a bit more fleshing out of the female lead. The ending seemed abrupt, but overall, a good read.

Lori Foster's books are always so much fun and irresistible. Jude Durant is a gorgeous movie star who moves to the Midwest, a small town and falls for an art gallery owner who is not beautiful or skinny. She does not understand what he sees in her, although she is a wonderful person. Lots of suspense and plot twists make this a good read.

Gail W. (G-Rated) reviewed on 4/8/2006...

As usual, a great Foster (erotic) romance. Didn't care for the ending as it left you hanging; a must buy the sequal coming in September.

Former wrestling champ turned movie star Jude Jamison has moved to Stillbrook, Ohio, to escape the pressure of fame and a scandal that haunts him. Tired of the artifice and cookie--cutter looks of Hollywood women, Jude finds Stillbrook's pleasingly plump art dealer, May Price, much to his liking. May finds it hard to believe that a handsome celebrity would be interested in her. But when her gambling, alcoholic brother, Tim, shows up beaten half to death with orders to kill Jude or die, May breeches the fragile wall between her and Jude to protect both him and her brother. The spunky heroine and honorable hero are only two of the characters that make Foster's latest so good. Delightful secondary characters, such as Denny, the wrestling trainer and Jude's right-hand man, and Ashley, the sassy but loyal best friend, enhance the story and add many humorous moments. Even the psycho killer is three-dimensional. With her trademark blend of danger, humor, and passion, Foster has written another entertaining romance.

This was a good book. Not as great as the Winston Brothers and the books that stemmed from it. But pretty fast paced, and an easy read. Not much character depth. I really enjoy Lori Foster and there were several characters in this book that I hope she continues with in later books. I found myself somewhat more interested in those characters than the main ones of this story.
