Myra Rutledge has waited patiently for her turn to seek revenge for the death of her daughter who was killed by John Chai and whom justice failed to serve since he got diplomatic immunity.
Well the time for revenge has finally arrived and now with the help of the sisterhood its' Myras turn.
As the girls meet for this mission Charles has informed them that only three of them along with himself will be going on this mission and Myra is not one of those chosen.
Ms. Michaels has a way of putting you in the drivers seat and actually going along for the mission. There are many twists and turns along the way but of course we know that the final mission will be accomplished.
I must say between Charles and Alexis and her bag of tricks all the unbelievable things seem to just fall into place.
As in the previous series Jack still wont leave Nikki alone but as she has proven to the group this is where her loyalty is.
I recommend it as a wonderful way to relax on a nice hot summers day and am sure you wont be able to put it down.
The special touches that come from Barbara at just the right moments make it even more believable.
Way to go Ms. Michaels another FANTASTIC BOOK.
Book 3 in the Sisterhood series.

"Vendetta" is Fern Michael's 3rd book in her revenge series. Seven women get together every few months to plan their revenge on one person who destroyed the life of one of the women in the group. Leading the group with his expertise is Charles, an ex-CIA operative who also happens to be a great cook and Myra's live-in lover. I didn't like it as much as I liked "Payback" (haven't read "Weekend Warriors"). For one, I felt the characters' dialogue was pretty stilted, especially with Myra. Their "humorous" jabs at one another falls flat. It's Myra turn to take revenge on the hit and run driver who killed her daughter. This man happens to be a diplomat's son so he's immune from prosecution. Charles gets in touch with an old friend, Li, who lives on an island near Hong Kong. Li agrees to help Charles with kidnapping Mr. Quan by offering his runway and plane. Four of the girls, including Myra, go on the trip. They successfully complete their mission, bringing Mr. Quan to Charles' and Myra's large house/compound, keeping him in their well hidden cellar. The second issue I had with this book was seeing Myra turn so nasty. She agrees with one of the girls' idea of caning Quan and enjoys herself as she hits Quan with a cane, ripping the skin from his body. All the girls' enjoy themselves but none like Myra. Quan ends up reduced to a raw pulp of meat even though he lives through the ordeal. By doing this, I felt the girls' had become even more savage than Quan. Besides, Quan's accident was not preplanned. Yes, Quan did run after hitting the girl with his car but any court would see this as involuntary manslaughter, not first degree murder. This book left me with a yucky feeling and on top of that, I was often bored with the improbable details of the kidnapping and the womens' superficial conversations. If you like revenge books and it doesn't bother you about the differences between Quan's crime and a child rapist's action, then you'd enjoy this book.

The book was fairly well written but not nearly as good as the first book in the series. Bear in mind, I LOVED the first two books in the series. In this one, there are inconsistencies in the story line, including changing the breed of a main character's dog, and the relationships between two main characters from the first book in the series. The book also features disturbing graphic violence. The violence was so graphic and gruesome that I actually wished I'd been warned beforehand so that I could have NOT read the book.

Not one of my favorites, but ok. Kept me interested. Not a murder mystery. But interesting plot, even if a little creepy (although maybe understandable).

Wow, what a book. I am anxious to read the first two books in this series. What every woman who has ever been done wrong dreams about!! Not for the weak at heart.

I was disappointed. I thought the book was mean spirited and cruel.
I think I'm finished with the series. Fern Michaels is off my list.
Once upon a time there were seven very different women who had been broken but not beaten by life. In those rough days of healing, they became the Sisterhood, a group of devoted friends who vowed to change their lives, empower themselves, and be there for each other, no matter what. Now, they're ready to answer the call for the women who started it all, Myra Rutledge. Five years ago, Myra's pregnant daughter was killed by a hit-and-run driver - the playboy son of an ambassador with diplomatic immunity. Myra was left to grieve while the murderer was free to return to his lavish lifestyle with no fear of ever having to pay for his crime. But not for mush longer. As the air turns crisp in the Virginia hills around Myra's lovely old farmhouse, the Sisterhood has gathered for a little creative planning, and what they have in mind is a figt for Myra of long-awaited and very sweet revenge...
I enjoyed this book and love this series.
This time it's Myra Rutledge's turn to get even. The girls and Charles travel to China to pick up the man who killed Myra's daughter Barbara in a hit and run 5 years earlier. I am not going to tell you what they do to him so you must read it from cover to cover.
Good read, crafty strong women...took traveling with me.

You Go Girls!! Great storyline, strong, capable women (sisters) and justice has been served, love this series!
There is vengeance and "getting even', then there is Vendetta. This one seemed a bit over the top. Although it is part of a series, I don't think I will read the remaining books.

From the back: 5 years ago her pregnant daughter was killed by a hit and run driver-a playboy son of an ambassador with diplomatic immunity. Myra was left to grieve with no hope for justice. The killer went back to his party life.
That is about to change-thanks to the Sisterhood.
The Sisterhood is 7 very different ladies who have been broken but not beaten by life. THese devotedf riends change their lives, empower each other, and help each other get the justice that they were once wrongfully denied. An excellent series and an A-1 read. A great part of this series is that you can start with any book and understand what is going on. I highly
recommend it!

3rd book in the Weekend Warriors group. This one is Myra's story. This is a very satisfying series of books about a group of women who were dealt incredibly unfair blows, in the past, and are working toward getting revenge in whatever way they can. In these books the villain always gets his due!
Wow, a very different type of novel. Scary in a dramatic way.

Not your usually Fern Michaels - this is a book about retribution, revenge and paying the consequences for a horrible act. However, having a jerk of an abusive ex-husband, I thoroughly enjoy the books in this series. Just know that it isn't her usual story with fun and lively plot and happy endings.
