Great book, accessible, good companion to "The Womanly Art..." (which is published via the La Leche League). Handy guide to have when breastfeeding, esp. for the first time around. On the required reading list for ALACE (Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators).

BEST book I came across for nursing/breastfeeding. It answered SO many of my questions and found it as first time mom about 3 months into nursing (after reading a few other books on topic). Wished I would have had it from the beginning. I buy this for every new mother I know (that is interested in breastfeeding). WONDERFUL resource!!!

This book is everything the previous reviews say it is. I found it to be the best reference book of all the ones I had. If you aren't breastfeeding, give it to someone you know who is going to!

This is an awesome resource for breast feeding mothers! Out of all the baby books I read before having my first child, this was by far the most helpful. I referred back to it through the 12 months I breastfed my first child and 11 months I breastfed my second child.
This has become my standard new-mommy gift of choice. It is absolutely the best resource for nursing mothers out there today. The author Kathleen Huggins gives good practical advice without being preachy, and offers tutorials and troubleshooting to help any new nursing mother along. I had just about every problem you can encounter nursing my first child, and this book never left the rocking chair I used to nurse him -- a day didn't go by for weeks that I wasn't using it to look something up. It's informative, educational and full of reassurance, which is something every new mother needs. [close]
Good basic information on human lactation with excellent drawings of holding positions and "what to do when..." section. My only concern is that the author advocates having the baby sleep with the mother in bed. The American Academy of Pediatrics does not support this view based on evidence and danger of baby being rolled on or suffocated. This is an older version. I can only hope that updated versions correct this.
Love this book! This is THE handbook for all nursing mothers.

Got this on the advice of my "lactation nazis" (husband's term) - nurses at our hospital who work with breastfeeding mothers. Good information.
This book was immensely helpful to me while I was breastfeeding. It helped me to understand problems we were having and how to fix them. I recommend this book to any expecting mother who is planning to breastfeed.
This book was invaluable to me as I worked (and I mean WORKED) to establish breastfeeding my two kids.
Very useful for a mom breastfeeding, or wanting to consider the option...
Wonderful information,I nurse my children for few years. PEACEFULLY ENJOY.
Indispensible reference for all new nursing moms.
This book was the most helpful resource I had for breastfeeding. It seemed like it answered all of my questions. Highly reccomended.
Very helpful for the nursing mother, with many different scenarios.
This was a wonderful reference book for BreastFeeding. I used it up until I stopped breastfeeding my little one
