This was a great guide when stating ths South Beach diet. I recommend it to anybody who is just starting out on this plan.

Very helpful when watching what you are eating. Lists portion sizes, proteins, carbs, sugars, and fats of many, many foods.

Out of curiosity I ordered this guide along with the cookbook. Before this, my family and I had been eliminating alot of the foods mentioned (and we all lost a few inches along the way) but I learned after reading this reference that I've been doing it all wrong! I love the concept and can see how easy it would be to make the necessary changes. So now I am ordering the book for a more complete understanding. Very informative and easy to carry.

Between the two of us, my husband and I have lost over 100 lbs by following the South Beach Diet. Having said that...I'm a recovering carb-o-holic...this diet is easy to follow and this book is an excellent resource for planning meals and shopping for the week.

Since I believe in the "all carbs all the time diet" I won't be needing this ;) My sister had to get rid of her books & gave this to me with a bunch of others, I'll surprise her with a book when this one is requested.
