For nearly two centuries, one family's tiny cabin has stood on the banks of Bayou Teche in the heart of Louisiana's Cajun Contry. Generations return, sometimes begradgingly, to discover secrets of love and redemption hidden within its walls and written on the pages of a journal that got its start one thousand miles to the north.

In 1755, when Capucine Louet was expelled from Nova Scotia during Le Grande Derangement, she was given a leather bound book while traveling through New York City. As she began to write, her heart reconciled to God and seeds were planted for her decendents to follow in her footsteps.

Fifty years later, Josee Broussard finds Grandmother Capucines' writings and continues the journey, while discovering the security of her husband's love.

Nicolas LeBlanc returns to the cabin searching for comforts of home but discoveres so much has changed. His family's words in the journal challenge his concept of home.

Justin LeBlanc was headed for the open road after raising his four sisters, but the canin and the journal change his driection so entirely that he closes its yellowed pages with a proposal, followed by an ecstatically scrawled, "Oui!" that sets the stage for future generations.
