There was less Norse mythology than I'd expected. A lot less. The art wasn't good enough to make up for this.

I hoped for Norse mythology, and found only large-breasted women. I'm sure this appeals to someone else. Action, fantasy, absurd costumes, and did I mention the breasts?

Like other reviewers, I was initially curious about this title because of the connection to Norse mythology. Sadly, the element of Norse mythology is tenuous (at best). Probably the best one-line description of Ragnarok is from a reviewer's quote on the back of the book: "...somewhere between OH MY GODDESS and Marvel's THOR...".
That aside, I thoroughly enjoyed it -- and I would have absolutely loved it as a teenager. It is in the typical Manga style with great artwork and an interesting story. Swords, sorcery, and monsters... what more do you need?
A very fun read, just don't get hung up on the Norse mythology thing.
One last note: Other reviewers pointed out that there's an abundance of "busty" females. Just to be clear, there is NO nudity, but the artist does like to draw well-endowed women. I didn't think it was over-done -- especially compared to other Manga titles and main-stream US comic books.
manga and norse mythlogoy!
