LaFrance ElementaryWe hit our Book Credits goal!
La France Elementary students in SC look forward to starting their very own libraries with your gift!
Thank you Paperbackswap.com for providing us with this wonderful opportunity to enrich our students’ lives through the wonderful world of books. Your generosity could provide our students with their first chance to begin a personal library at home.
La France Elementary is a Title One school, located in rural S.C. We have a very diverse population of students who come from mainly middle class and lower class families who are struggling in the economic climate of our country. Our school serves students ranging from four year olds through 6th graders. The qualifying free and reduced lunch students make up 41 % of our population.
While our parents try to be very supportive of their children, purchasing books must take a back seat to providing the basic essentials of life. Severe budget cuts imposed on our public education system this year make it difficult for any additional book purchases. So the bottom line is: our children need books and we don’t have the funds to provide them. Your kindness will put books in the hands of our children. Research has shown that successful readers read and read and read. We want to give our students that chance for success. Thank you from all our students!

We made the news!
Just wanted to let you know our book arrived- we will be opening boxes and exploring tomorrow- I am at my other school today. We are so excited! Also, our school was featured on the front page of the Hometowner section of the Anderson Independent Mail on Wed. Dec.1 with the press release and a photo we provided. We will send more pictures when we take them tomorrow. Thanks again, Jeryl

Dear Paperbackswap members,
Thank you from every child and teacher at LaFrance Elementary. We were so excited to watch as our numbers kept growing towards meeting our goal. Our librarian logged on every chance she had to check on the donation progress.
The children were amazed to learn that people they didn't even know were doing something so kind as to donate books to us. Your generosity made a huge impression on these young children. Now we are waiting for the books to come. We will be sure to let you know when the day arrives! Thanks again for the impact you are making for our future!
sincerely,
the students and staff of LaFrance Elementary, La France, S.C.
