Raintree Elementary - Baldwin, LAWe hit our Book Credits goal!
Louisiana's Raintree Elementary students are working hard to read on grade level!
Nestled between the sugarcane fields of south-central Louisiana stands Raintree Elementary School. Our school is part of the St. Mary Parish School System. There are 620 students enrolled in our Pre-K through 5th grade school. Raintree’s student population has a poverty rate above 90%. Many of our students are reading below grade level.
One of our school’s goals is to have all students reading on grade level by the time they enter third grade. In order to do this, we ask that all students read 20 minutes each night. However, many students do not have books at home. We will use the books donated through PaperBack Swap as part of this endeavor. Our school’s motto is “The Raintree Family will raise expectations for all learners.” With your help, we will be able to accomplish this!
