Greetings from Greenfield, Missouri!
Our little elementary school is located in the Ozark mountains of southwest Missouri. We are the home of the Wildcats. Our school is Pre-K through 6th grade and has an approximately 68% free and reduced food program population.
We don't have large industries in our community to help support the school. We are trying to keep up with the demands of technology without sacrificing the needs of our reading books. With all the state required fees for license, copyrights, etc. the money doesn't go very far.
At our school we try to reward students for their reading efforts. We have a 100 pt. reading club to earn ice cream, a pizza reading reward, and we let them print out their records to help keep track of each and every book that they have ever read. With all the budget cuts our school district has experienced there is no money for extras. We would be thrilled to receive new books from PaperBackSwap!
We use the Accelerated Reader quiz program and the students are really hooked on reading and then taking the tests on the books they have read. We could always use more books! Thanks for considering our school.
