Elisha M. Pease Elementary SchoolWe hit our Book Credits goal!
Elisha M. Pease Elementary students in Dallas, Texas can't wait for new books!
Elisha M. Pease is a Title 1 elementary school with students in Pre-K to 3rd grades. The school is a part of Dallas ISD and is located in Southeast Dallas, TX. The school has over 400 students and 95% receive free or reduced lunches. Pease’s mission is to “strive for excellence academically, morally and socially.”
As a non-profit running a reading incentive program in their school, My Very Own Book has seen how they work hard to fulfill this mission. In our program, the Pease students read outside of school hours and are rewarded every six weeks for minutes read with a certificate and a new book of their choice. We provide the school with more than double the number of new books they need to set up the “free bookstore” so the students have a great selection from which to choose.
We all know that school staff have so much to do, yet when they find a program they believe will help their students they are eager to put in the extra effort to implement it. Pease staff recognized this program motivates students to read, increases literacy skills, and puts new books into the homes of families who often can’t afford to purchase their own new books.
Thank you to all Paperback Swap members for donating credits to help Elisha M. Pease strive for excellence by providing new books to students who have earned them by reading! To learn more about My Very Own Book, go to www.myveryownbook.org.

Pease Elementary’s mission is to “strive for excellence academically, morally and socially.” After watching 251 Paperback Swap members generously donate 1,000 valuable credits, I can see that the entire Paperback Swap community cares about excellence as well.
Your dedication to putting books into the homes of students in low-income neighborhoods is outstanding and greatly appreciated. We look forward to receiving the books and seeing the joy they bring to the students.
Thank you so much!
