I have been offered that book as well, and agree that book cover is disgusting.  I wish there was a  "don't show this again" option like pop-up ads, because I get the same Member Appreciation Book offers all the time. 

I have also used Malwarebytes to detect and correct problems on my computer and those of friends. There is a free version as well as a premium version with more features that can be purchased. It works well and is trustworthy. www.malwarebytes.org

that happened to me here a few months ago......just run the free anti-malware.

Malwarebytes has a free ant-malware program that works well.  I'd download it and run it ASAP.

Anyone else have some running ads in a banner up top and on the side?. On some pages it covers the text. Pissing me off.

I'm hoping someone with more tech savvy than me chimes in......I keep getting ads from a Flexibalueshopipeer similar to a pop up but different. I only get them on this site. Does anyone know how to get rid of them? Thanks in advance!

This one is making the rounds tho and seems to attach itself to one of your programs.  Members have reported it on their PBS pages, my aunt had it on her Firefox.

yep, my "weird green font" was definitely malware.  I got very good suggestions from members here for cleaning it off of my daughter's laptop.

Is anyone else getting pop up ads on here? I started getting them about a week ago, and they are very annoying. They pop up right where I'm trying to read, and I can't close them for about 10 seconds.

PBS does not have pop-up ads.

I am sorry that you are getting unwanted pop-ups,  but I am also confident that this is not a PBS problem,

I just asked about this a few days ago when individual words in posts and PBS headlines started showing up in green font with double underlines......if you hovered over one of those an ad would pop up, sometimes with very loud audio.  But it is ONLY happening on PBS on my daughter's laptop, not any of our other computers so that proves it's malware on the computer, not the site.

It sounds like malware to me.  PBS doesn't have pop-up ads.

I can't remember having ever experienced a "pop-up" ad on PBS.

It would seem that you have some kind of Trojan virus on your computer. Are you running any kind of security other than a pop-up blocker?

I have a pop up blocker but The pop up ads on paperback swap are insane. I am not experiencing this on any other web sites today, and I'm fairly new to PBS, so it seems to be a PBS situation. Do other members experience this, or is it just me?

I wonder if you are using Mozilla Firefox.  There are many people having that problem as did I. It did seem PBS got a lot of them and at first I thought it was the site.   Appears nothing stops it as I have Stopzilla and other popup blockers that didn't touch it.  So I changed my browser to Google Chrome and no more pop up ads.

 It has to do with your computer.  Clean/clear your cache, and run a virus scan.

you shouldn't be getting pop-up ads at all here on PBS.  I'm no computer whiz, but I'm sure I've seen this complaint before in the forums.
