If you only want to make a link that's clickable and not the one that says "link" you can copy the URL of the book's listing page and paste it to the  post here.  Then you can highlight it and use the "link" symbol in the last section of the little toolbar on top of the post section and it should become a workable link.

It can work like the above.  I can do the "link" link but it's always by accident.

ETA - okay the top link atually came out with "Link" - but doesn't show that on the post writing section until it posts.  So I'm still confused about what I did - but like I said I do it by accident.  Sorry I can't be more helpful.  I don't know how to do it in a PM because the toolbars aren't there.

You can copy and paste any blue or red linked listing of the book. I usually go to my TBR or bookshelf, highlight the book title, copy, and then paste. If you want to use a URL and have it say something, the easiest way is to get the uRL in your clipboard (copy) and then in the post - type what you want the link to say, highlight that, and then hit the link symbol. Copy the URL into the screen that pops up. Viola!

Ruth:

Here's what you did by accident.  If you copy any URL beginning with http: and paste it into your posting (for example the following Google URL) it magically gets convert into the blue Link AFTER you click Submit Reply.  Like this: http://www.google.com/

You can make the same link with a title (so to speak).  For example let's say I wanted to call it MY GOOGLE HOMEPAGE then what you do is highlight those words Press the little link tool (the chain) and the paste the URL portion in a window that pops up and click OK.  Now it has a title of MY GOOGLE HOMEPAGE

Though if you use the latter method it must be the last part of a paragraph.  If you continue typing that sentence after establishing the link it destroys the link somehow.

For book/ author links it's much simpler.  Just go to your Lists (Wish, Reminder, etc) copy the already made link and paste it into your post like this:

Beyond The Sunrise :: Mary Balogh

Burn: A Novel :: Linda Howard

Here's a picture that shows a refinement for a clickable link to a Website. Instead of the default blue http://www.jrward.com/index-books.html you might want to make up your own name for the link.  Let's say we want the phrase Black Dagger Brotherhood  as our link.

Here a picture of how to post a link to a specific reply in a forum topic.  First let’s assume that you did a forum search to find a specific forum post.  You just click the

View Inline link from the search.  The resulting URL is your link.  Simply paste it here http://www.paperbackswap.com/forum/topic.php?t=176052&l=25&ls=0#p3551055
