and reduce the number of books, CDs and DVDs you buy in general! And membership is totally FREE!

Over 70,000 are available - bigger than any retail store and they are mailed right to your mailbox. NO monthly fees!            Mail a CD. Get a CD. Over 160,000 are available. Why pay 99 cents a song when you can have the entire album for only 49 cents?!

When another member requests one of your books, CDs, or DVDs, you will need to mail it to them. You have to pay for the postage - usually around $2.30 for a book, under $1.00 for a CD, and about $1.85 for a DVD. Then, each time you mail out a book, CD, or DVD, you get to order another one that gets mailed directly to your home.

You don't even have to visit the Post Office. You can mail them right from your home. The sites offer Printable Postage - so no extra money needs to be spent on gas!

Paperback Swap was featured in the March 2009 issue of Oprah’s Magazine, O, and they had this to say, For cost-conscious readers who want to trade, borrow, or buy, these sites are the best things to come along since the public library…Trade hardcovers and audiobooks as well as soft covers…and get updates on newly available titles via their daily e-mail digest. Stroke of genius: the online postage program, which allows you to print the postage on a mailing label directly from your computer.”

An environmentalist, Erin Peters from Raleigh, NC, who writes a "green and frugal" blog, consciousshopper.blogspot.com, had this to say in April 2009, "This is a great way to purge your bookshelves of all those books you've picked up over the years but didn't want to add to a landfill. Books with full-color pictures such as cookbooks, textbooks, and travel guides would be especially great to pass on - they often aren't accepted by recycling facilities because they're more difficult to recycle."

Please sign up TODAY and give them a try! You are not only signing up to swap, you will also have the option of being connected to a community of other avid readers, music enthusiasts and movie lovers all over the United States.

Remember, you are under no obligation even after you sign up, so there is nothing to lose. But there IS something to gain for you and for the planet if you choose to start swapping!
