Good list. Infected is on there twice.

Comment added 11/5/14 by Andrew N. - , :
My favorite of the Heinlein books had to be Moon is a Harsh Mistress. It has an interesting writing style and feel to that of some of his other titles. Also would put Hitchhiker's Guide purely for the insanity of British dark comedy.

Comment added 5/6/12 by Tammy H. (tkhooper):
Some one has made a number of duplicate entries on your list.

Comment added 4/13/12 by zfool - , :
Had to add both Otherland by Tad Williams, and The Demon Prince collection by the great Jack Vance. I highly recommend both for some very fun and exciting SciFi adventures.

Comment added 2/12/11 by Mitchell G. (booknerd28):
After exhausting all the brilliant Arthur C. Clarke, I made a move to Ben Bova. He's got plenty worth taking a look at, including the Mars and Moon series.

Comment added 2/5/11 by Kathleen R.:
Foreigner, by C. J. Cherryh (Foreigner series ; 1)

Comment added 2/5/11 by Kathleen R.:
Ender's Shadow, by Orson Scott Card, is the first of a complimentary series that forks from the actual "Ender" series. The main characters are former members of Ender's group in Battle School. For those who most enjoy the strategies and military planning.

Comment added 2/5/11 by Kathleen R.:
It's hard to know where to start the Bujold books. But I highly recommend the one that introduced us to Miles Vorkosigan-- Vor Game, by Lois McMaster Bujold. (Also found in Vorkosigan's Game)

Comment added 2/5/11 by Kathleen R.:
The Past Through Tomorrow, by Robert Heinlein!

What, no Star Trek?

Comment added 8/15/10 by Ryan F. (thehappyfew):
Was happy to see Larry Niven and Ray Bradbury on the list but hoped Ringworld and Fahrenheit 451 respectively would have been on here.

Comment added 7/12/10 by Tam G. (tamg):
No Ursula LeGuin? The Left Hand of Darkness?

Comment added 7/6/10 by Michelle G. (mikeylou) - , :
Since I've been reading the deluge of Fantasy I haven't kept up much with Sci-Fi, but I've added Larry Niven, Margaret Weis "Star of the Guardians", and Catherine Asaro's Skolian Empire.

Comment added 7/4/10 by PhoenixFalls - , :
OMG! How could I have forgotten Arthur C. Clarke?!? Thanks Marta! (Though actually, I think a better place to start is Childhood's End. . . but then, I've never read his short fiction.)

Comment added 7/4/10 by PhoenixFalls - , :
Re: Bradbury *Shamefacedly* I haven't actually read The Illustrated Man yet. . . it's on Mt. TBR! But The Martian Chronicles seemed a pretty safe pick, it being where I started and one of the books that cemented my love of the genre. . . :) Re: Matt C.'s

I haven't read all of Bradbury, but I agree with Martian Chronicles -- and also really enjoyed The Illustrated Man.
