But Lansing State Journal readers were more than happy to share some of their money-saving tips. See if any of them will make your life a little easier ... and your wallet a little heavier.

Paperbackswap.com: I love this site. I love to read and used to be quite the book buyer. Now I am a book swapper. Although I use the library quite a bit for fiction, I love this swap site for books I want to hold onto, for books I would have previously bought.

The premise is that you post 10 of your paperbacks on the site. Once you have done this, you have three credits to get other books with. Then when someone wants one of your books, you send it to them. When they receive it, you get another credit. If you want a book then someone sends it to you. It's that simple. There are more than 2,000 members online at this moment and more than 3 million books available. They also have a wish list where you can list books you want, then when they become available you are first in line.
