Free Fun In Austin (Website) - 6/11/2010 by Heidi
Paperbackswap.com is one of my favorite websites. There are over 4 million books available on this site, all free for the taking! Or at least free for the swapping.

Basically, you list books you no longer want on the site, by ISBN number. When someone wants a book that you listed, they will request it from you. You mail it to them, paying for the postage. When they receive the book, you earn a credit. You use that credit to request any other book on the site. When a book is mailed to you, you pay nothing.

The most time consuming part of the whole process is setting up your account. You will start by listing 10 of your books. Once you have listed those books, you will get 2 credits that you can use right away. I guarantee that once you start getting free books in the mail, you will be hooked! My kids have gotten so into it that they ask me to post their books. They also ask me to look for books that they're interested in, to the point where most of the books we receive these days are for them.

One tip I have is to list lightweight books. Remember, you are paying for the postage for the books you mail, so hard cover books will cost you more.
