  Hearts On Fire

Beyond what's known
In silent realms,
Where darkness holds the jeweled crowns,
A princess with a whispery name
With Cupid's arrow took her aim
Drew back a bow, then gently smiled
Struck true to heart to stake her claim.

And love ran swift
from heart to heart,
In conversations cloaked in verse,
Uncommon touch, inciting rhyme
In realms beyond those thought sublime
Of past laments, and futures found
With love that breaks the bounds of time.

With eyes on fire
and hearts aflame,
New life instilled where souls once slept,
Now wide awake, and held to task
To drink of love from golden flask
A crimson dawn awaits the pair
Discarding fear, lost hope had masked.

What once was dreamed
had come to pass,
Through Eros, Venus and the rest,
All gods of lovers smiling down
(No tears of pain in which to drown),
Now side by side they make their way.
Where once was one, now two are found.

With Love

Flowing through them

like tears

through their hearts on fire,

fulfilled within those moments
clasping tight the golden cord
of all that ever was...
...and is to be.
