Here we go Girls.  This will be our 5th month.   Did you think you would get this far?  I didn't think I would.  You are doing sooooo Good! 

SPRING INTO  MAY

 

 May 1:     walked around the block with a 2 min. jog

 May 2:     21 wedge  21 excercise body strength

May 3:      walked 3 miles with leslie

May 4:     rest day 

May 5:   rest day

May 6:  walked 5 miles with leslie samone

May 7:  stability ball 30 min

May 8:  walked 2 miles with leslie samone

May 9:  stability ball excercises  30 min

May 10:  no excercise 

May 11:  rest day did money work

May 12:  rest day, errand day, but did help spread moo doo on garden and dug up lettuce to transplant later.

Lost one day this week, which made me guilty feeling, but got weighted and have lost weight. 

New Week New beginning  5 days or else!

May 13:  walked 5 miles with leslie

May 14:  21 wedge excercies

May 15: walked with leslie 2 miles

May 16:  21 wedge excercises

May 17: walked 2 miles with leslie

May 18: rest day did accounting

May 19: rest day  errand day  rain rain go away!

May 20: walked 5 miles leslie salome

May 21: stability ball 30 min

May 22: walked 2 miles gardening 40 min raking nice arm work

May 23:  stability ball plus 8 min ab work nice work out

May 24:  walked 3 miles did 8 min arms and 8 min stretch. 

May 25:  rest day but going to a wild animal park so will be doing some walking for enjoyment!

May 26:  rest day but gardening all day!  Planted most of veggie garden and weeded one of my small flower beds.

May 27: was bad today  my 5 mile walk day but didn't get there.  Was busy doing errands and then raked neighbors lily bed for DH. Will get back on track tomorrow.

May 28: wedge 21 21 excercises 21 repetitions

May 29: walked 3 miles with leslie

May 30:  8 min. abs, 8 min arms, 8 min stretch

May 31: walk 3 miles with Leslie

The vet today told me my Dog is overweight -- with all the walking I don't see how but could be all the treats, Doggie diet time.

May 1 - 3 mile walk with Dog

May 3 - 3.5 mile walk with Dog

May 4 - 2.5 mile walk with Dog

May 5 - 3 mile walk with Dog

May 6 - 4 mile walk with Dog plus 30 mins mulching at the park

May 7 - 3.5 mile walk / hike with Dog

May 8 - 5 mile walk with Dog

May 9 - 3.5 mile walk / hike with Dog

May 10 - 3.5 mile walk / hike with Dog

May 11 - 2.5 mile walk with Dog

May 12 - 3 mile walk with Dog

May 13 - weeded flower beds

May 14 - 3 mile walk with Dog

May 15 - lifted weights

May 17 - 4 mile walk with Dog

May 19 - 3.5 mile walk with Dog

Went to a 3 day concert the weekend of the 20th - lots of walking, jumping and standing - doubt there was any calorie burn though (ha!)

May 27 - 3 mile walk with Dog

May 31 - potted flowers, hauled dirt and pots and hanging baskets. too hot to take doggie for a walk. We might try early tomorrow a.m.

Stephenie--Walking doesn't burn fat. That's how.

Well all the walking has burned off my fat. Cardio is Cardio. Doggie and I walked over 60 miles in April. Really we took a good look at her diet and she simply gets too many treats.

A new month- time to get back into a routine

May2- 24 minute walk

May 3- 24 minute walk

May 4May 5May 6- no workout

May 7- walking in the woods in waders - had to have been more than 1/2 hour

Various days of hunting- one day we went up a hill so steep, that my feet were slipping backwards on each step and you have to be quiet so I couldn't let my husband know that I was falling behind.  But I finally made it!

May 17- bike 1 hour while I watched house- great episode

May 18 bike 1 hour

May 22 bike 1 hour

With all due respect Stephenie, you are wrong. I am a personal trainer and exercise physiology major. HIIT would burn fat, but I assure you, walking does not. If you did a body composition test before and after the month of April, I am willing to bet that it would say you lost a fair amount of muscle and water, but not fat.

I will check with the vet and get her thoughts. I don't mind running with the Dog if that will help. She had a fair amount of muscle developed from our walking. It may be just the adjustment in her calorie intake will help. She can't be the only fatty in the house -- she would be embarrassed.

Stephanie you have done so great!  Keep it up. 

Scott- what programs do you reccommend?  The only Gym we have near by only has treadmills and weights so that is certainly not worth my money.

Angela - thanks - my pants and skirts fit better! I rewarded myself with a new pair of jeans. Our local gym doesn't have alot but its so close and convenient. This time of year I use it for weights only. I need to start mixing that in with my walking. Too bad we don't live close we could both walk with my chubby dog. Ha!

I agree Stephenie you are doing great.  I too feel my pants fitting much better.  Any movement is better than sitting on the couch which is what I was doing before.

we are all doing great. I like keeping track here. I have never done that before. I am heading out in a little bit to help mulch the trails at our local park. I figure doggie and I use them I should help. Leola is May 12th a special day for you. It has a smiley face on it...just curious.

5/1/11 about 50 minutes of gardening
5/2/11 No workout
5/3/11 No workout
5/4/11 65 minute walk with coworkers after work
5/5/11

30 minutes of "Fit Club" circuit training after work with coworker-I'll be sad when this ends at the end of May :-(

5/6/11 40 minutes of "Yoga Happy Hour" after work with coworkers
5/7/11 No exercise planned- but I'm sure I'll be doing a lot of dancing at my cousin's wedding this evening! :-P
5/8/11 approx 20 min walk in the woods at my SIL's
5/9/11 42 minutes- walk with coworkers after work
5/10/11 about 30 minutes of Fit Club circuit training after work with co-workers
5/11/11 53 minutes- walk with coworker after work
5/12/11 No workout
5/13/11 about 50 minute walk with coworkers
5/14/11 No workout
5/15/11 40 minutes- Jillian Michael's Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism
5/16/11 No workout
5/17/11 approx 60 minutes- walked with coworkers after work
5/18/11 10 minutes Denise Austin's Best Belly Fat-Blasters (1st segment- Personal Training System)

5/25/11 approx 30 minutes of dancing at our annual party at work (it might have been longer, but who knows, I was having too much fun! :-P)

5/27/11 60 minute walk after work with coworkers! :-) (209 calories according to my walking watch)

LOL no may 12 is not a special day.  I tried to put a smily on the end of one day and it dropped down one me and haven't figured out how to get it off.  But thanks noticeing.  I'll try to get it off.

Im a bit late to join the May group but im starting over again and going to add my log here. Ive gained 5 pounds since January ~~~ Blech!  Time to get rid of it and then some.

May 16th  - Walked 4 miles with Leslie 60 minutes / (used strap on hand weights) did entire routine with high intensity and added some Turbo Jam moves thoughout the routine

May 17th - First weigh in : 150 pounds exactly ---  Did Turbo Jam - 20 minute workout with the hand weights at high intensity, Broke a great sweat

May 18th - Ripped in 30 with Jillian Micheals(New 2011 release/ NOT the 30 day Shred)   Level One 24 minutes.  Med/High Intensity effort and dripping in sweat

May 19th - Rest Day my back is super sore from yesterday

May 20th - 30 45 minutes on my recumbent bike--- so I can read while I burn off some calories

May 21st - 8 minute abs routine - ((Cheat day))

May 22nd - Cleaned by bathroom for well over 6 hours today.  Litterally every nook and cranny from the ceiling to the floor.  Im exhausted!!!!

May 23rd - Errand day X(

May 24th - 2nd weigh-in : 147.6 lbs! I measured 3 different times to ensure accuracy of scale. Same number each time! WooHoo!  Today I did Yoga Meltdown Level 1 with Jillian 30 minutes. Felt good to stretch, even broke a light sweat!  :)

May 25th - 30 minutes in the am on my bike while i read /// 30 minutes on my bike pm while i read

May 26th - Walked 3 miles with Leslie. Pilates walk

May 27th - Worked a full day (((in heels UGH)))) did the 8 minutes arm routine

May 28th - Rest Day

May 29th - 30 minutes on my bike while I read

May 30th - 15 minutes walk with my dogs /// 2 hours of swimming funtime

May 31st - 1 mile with Leslie (15 minutes) + 8 minutes legs video + 25 reps of scissor bicycle crunches---man those suckers are HARD! LOL

Ive been a long time fan of Leslie.... have over 50 of her dvd's 

Jus recently became a fan of Jillian

I also LOVE Turbo Jam  and YogaBootyBallet

 

Heres some quick cheater routines: for those days you only have a few minutes to squish in some work: (all are 8 minutes from the 8 minute fitness dvd)

Giddy,

Please dont take this the wrong way, but I gotta say it.....

While I appreciate the fact that your a certified trainer or went to school for it, or whatever it is you have done, your motivational skills are seriously lacking.  Your words of encouragement are demeaning at best.  What you fail to understand is that not every human body is built for HIIT training that you are promoting.  Telling people that walking doesnt burn fat etc, is very off-putting.  Why not say Good Job! or Way to Go!  Just because people are not doing YOUR preferred method of training doesnt mean their efforts are wasted, or not going to work as you say.  The point here is that people ARE trying to lose weight, and should be congradulated rather than told they are doing it wrong.   People have busy lives, various medical problems etc etc.  I imagine if you worked at a public gym would you tell the 400 pound woman she would NEVER loose weight if she was walking at 1mph on the treadmill for 4 hours a day?  Im sure you would get fired. See my point?  (((Probably not--Owell))

Anyhow, Ive put you on Ignore. You just go on ahead discouraging folks all you like, the rest of us normal people will keep on trying and doing the best we can.  I certainly hope you can put your certified, chicken fried HIIT training certificate of completion to good use somewhere in your life. Perferrably in a cult where everyone will listen to you.
