I received a harry potter a few weeks ago.  The binding was fine, but there is a name written on the side (not the text) and the cover is in an ok state (not great).  If this was my book I wouldn't have posted it, but it is a highly prised book and it took a few weeks to get to the top of the list.  I was just happy to get it.  Am I going to be able to re-post it?

Probably your book is fine.  It is okay to have a name written on the page edges, and it's hard to tell how bad the cover is from what you say.  If by cover you mean "dust jacket" then you're fine...dust jackets don't even have to be included unless the requestor specifies this in Requestor Conditions.
