The noted author Laurens van der Post gives an engrossing account of his Africa and the African food. Written in 1977 this is still a cookbook classic. Many color photos delightfully illustrate this book. I would not be listing it if I did not have two copies. Sampling of recipes: (all titles are in the language of the African country of origin and English - I'll use English) - Fresh Vegetables with Garlic and Ginger (Ethiopia); Yam Paste Balls (West Africa); Zanzibar Duck; Fish and Shrimp Stew (Mozambique); Pickled Fish (South Africa); Dried Fruit Curry (South Africa); Ostrich Omelet: Yellow Coconut Pudding (Angola); and many, many more
