From Publishers Weekly
This is the sixth in the series by Delacorta (ne Daniel Odier) that includes Diva , basis of the film. Now the hero, Serge Gorodish, and Lolita-like Alba play together at home in his Golden Pagoda on a California beach--but their idyll ends when Serge is arrested for littering. While he\'s in jail, Alba drives a blind youth, Jason, in a stolen car to the Mojave desert and the hideout of The Group. The members, male Wise Ones and their female Wisette, are crooks stealing from Jason and others they pretend to help in this gravely funny, unpredictable tale. Luckily for Alba and Jason, Serge is released and on his way, arriving in time to save the day during the showdown with the charlatans. Juxtaposing silliness, erotica, reality and surrealism, the Swiss author reinforces his reputation for creating unique, pop adventures.
