Christian Home Educators of Colorado sponsors an umbrella school (minimally invasive, basic record-keeping and for legal purposes) for $50. DH and I are considering enrolling for legal protection purposes. Anyone here enrolled in an umbrella school? |

We use Home life academy in memphis Tn and we love them I have never had any problems with the umbrella system they are there to help when you need it but give you the freedom to teach your kids how you see fit.
hope it all works out for your family angel |

I have my eldest enrolled at Homelife Academy. The other two are still enrolled through the LEA. I'm not quite sure why I went that route. When I took my papers down there, I even had a copy of my diploma. <that was something new this year> She runs out of the buiding to catch me and said they had no record of me even being enrolled last year. She had it totally mixed up, due to two kids this year and three kids last year. What weirdos!!! |

Just thought I'd pop in and update this topic. I enrolled in the umbrella school offered by the Christian Home Educators of Colorado. :) $50 is worth peace of mind. |

When I homeschooled my girls they were enrolled in Christian Liberty Academy in Illnois. It was great, very supportive, good variety of materials from other homeschool programs even and very reasonable in price. They were great. |

CHEC doesn't interfere with my methods. They aren't a real school...they are JUST an umbrella school. They just keep our attendance on record. It is not another k12 or other curriculum in a box type place. It's just legal protection. There are no materials to purchase or anything like that. I still run the show. :) |
