I was extremely excited to read this. Unfortunately once I picked it up, it bored me to tears! I read roughly 20 pages and quit. Needless to say, I was majorly disappointed.

I found this at Half Price Books and, being an Anne Lamott fan, snapped it up. With a grandson on the way, it's intriguing to hear her take on being a grandmother...and her interviews with her son are somewhat interesting. He was 19 when Jax was born, and there is a lot of drama between Sam and his girlfriend Amy.

That being said, the book is less about the journal of being a grandmother than Anne's trip to India, which takes up 4 of the 7 CDs. Don't get me wrong, she's a wonderful storyteller and her antics in India are as wild as those stateside.

Just be aware that the book is as much a travel journal as anything else.

Can't decide whether or not I'm going to post this after I'm finished... But check out your used bookstores. If you like her quirky style, you may like this.

This book was just okay for me. It was a bit too religious/spiritual for me, because I'm not a religious person, so that part did not appeal to me at all.

I enjoyed her journaling about her trip to India and about her grandson and her son. To me, that pretty interesting to a point, but I found myself skimming through a lot of the other stuff, just because I couldn't relate.

This book got a 2.5 stars from me. Glad to be done with it.
