This was a great book, main characters and secondary characters were well written. Great story line, couldn't put it down. Now I can't wait for the other stories that will surely follow.

A quick read starting off a series. I liked the hero a great deal. Thought the basic plot was pretty contrived but still tells a good love story and introduces a number of interesting characters whom I am sure we will get to know better in future books. Decent love scenes, not the hottest, not the most memorable characters or heart-thumping romance, but certainly better than many many books out there in same genre.

This book was my first step into the realm of historical romances and once finished I was ready to take another one. The characters were charming and the plot intriguing.

5 Stars and I will tell you why. The characters are very real and by that I mean they are like you and me. While having challenges and moments they still think and care for others. They are exciting, funny, relatable, and very believable. The H/H were both grounded and did not whine. Meaning saying the same thing over and over either because the author didn't know what else to have them do or she needed to boost her word count. It made me have happy tears, sad tears and happy tears. This one is on the mark!
