I was very interested in this book. I thought the premise sounded intriguing.

The humans are not at the top of the food chain. Not by a long shot. And the vampires (here known as Nymars) are not interested in romancing anyone. There are mongrels and half breeds and full breeds. All of them stronger and faster than the monkeys (i.e. humans.) But there are a few humans who know about the monsters and try to at least hold the worst of them back. One of the ways they can do that is these special blood blades.

I really wanted to get into this book but I just couldn't. The story is fairly interesting, and different enough from the other urban fantasies. I just personally couldn't find a good rhythm with the story. After several attempts i've give up.

I do think that other people would be able to enjoy it though. Just not me personally.

"Leave some alive" "the crazy man whispered.,
I am a long time reader on this earth. I started out with King and Koontz and
have broadened my horizons with not so main stream as I find them much more of
delightful change. Plus when you get my age you run out of books to read in the horror genre.
We have some really great authors coming out lately and Mr Pelegrimas is one
of them. This book is certainly not getting the praise it deserves.
Blood Blade is packed with constant action and you will not want to put it down.
It is not like anything else I have read. Unique in its excellence.
There are creatures from other worlds thru out the story that live all around us.. But
we cannot see them. But they see and abuse us. There is a small group of people called
Skinners and they can see all these creatures and have different relationships some
friend some foe. The Skinners are on a mission to keep this worlds people safe. They
are few and the other world beings are many.

The writing by Marcus Pelegrimas is excellent. There is so much to this story.

Skinners, vampires, werewolves, shapechangers - this is NOT a paranormal romance. These are different breeds of monsters...

Here is another book I wanted to like. The premise was excellent and it even started off exciting and urban fantasy is a new genre that I have been falling in love with.

I think that this book would (and from reviews at other places, does,) be well liked by many other readers of urban fantasy. I just couldn't quite get into the rhythm of it. There was a lot of information to get out and characters to introduce, as it seems to be the beginning of a series, so perhaps the next books will be better for me. I may try the second book at some point, but I probably will be borrowing over buying if I do.

Interesting take on vampires and other supernaturals and I wish I could say I loved it (it would move from my shelf faster I am sure lol) but it just didn't grabbed me like I had hoped.

I just didn't like many of the characters, and could not finish the book.
