This is a compilation of 12 outstanding stories about girls and their horses. My favorite and an example is about a girl called "Little Rhody" This was her nickname. Rhody was a new girl in town, going to school living with her aunt. IN the 1890's, Memorial Day was Decoration Day to Honor all the veterans of previous wars. Thirteen girls whose dads were veterans were chosen. Rhody was one of them, however, Rhody a small size for her age 13 years old and was was riding in a huge carriage with several horses pulling it. The horses took off with out their driver and almost killed the 13 girls. Little Rhody had been taught by her dad to drive a stagecoach, so she grabbed the reins and gor the carriage to stop. Rhody became a hero in that town.
